My best friend the serial killer

"Katie get up!" My mother Clarissa yells. "Time for school."

My phone goes off, practically vibrating off my night stand. I see that it's a text from my best friend Melany.

Hey Katie! I won't be at school today I have things to do. love you lots! __Melany.

"She's out of school again?" I thought to myself. I shoved my phone into my bag and began walking up the hall and down the stairs to breakfast. Everyone else in the family had already sat down and began eating. "Ah look who finally decided to join us." My dad Johnny said. I gave him half a smile and then sat in my seat. "You'd better hurry up honey, you don't want to be late." My mother said. I took a sip of my orange juice then nodded in her direction.

The walk to school was lonely today. I usually walk with Melany, but since she wasn't coming today I walked the streets alone. It started to rain half way through my walk. "That's just perfect!" I screamed angrily at the sky.

When I arrived at school I saw a news station van pulled beside the sidewalk and the whole student body going crazy. I finally managed to get through the crowd and made my way closer to the news broadcaster. I listened in very carefully.

Riverside High school cheerleader Angelica Preston was found dead inside her home this morning. Preston was stabbed to death in the chest. Her mother found her this morning hung from her closet. Police believe that whoever the murder is they stabbed her in her bed then put her in the closet. Many townspeople question their safety. Police also believe whoever the murder is, this wasn't their first victim. Till them I'm Amy Wood on Riverside News channel 2.

I stood there not knowing what to say or do. My other friend Brantley walked over to me. "Hey there Katie." I turned around "Oh, hey Brant." I said still shaking. He looked at me for a second or two then said, "I hate that about Amgelica, ya know?" I nodded I kept thinking about the fight her and Melany got into last weekend at a basketball game. Melany bumped into Angelica while she was cheering and she tripped.
