Chapter 3. Plans

I figured out how to discover what it was that Melany was hiding from me, I just couldn't wait to find out.

I picked up the phone and called Melany's mom Rita.

"Hello?" she answered.

"Hey" Mrs. Rita" I said.

"Ah, Katie" her voice sounded through the phone. "How can I help you"? I gripped the phone tighter.

"Can I come stay with you guys over spring break"? I asked sweetly. "My parents are uh, going out of town and Isabel is going to a friends house."

There was a few seconds of utter cold silence, but not the same silence I experienced with Melany the other night.

"Sure you can Katie! We would love you have you!"

I gave my thanks to her and then began packing my bags. I thought about videoing every weird thing that I see happen with Melany so I packed my video camera.

"Katie!" my dad screamed from the bottom of the stairs. "Hurry and get dressed your brother will be here soon."

This was the first time we've saw my older Jason since summer when went to our lake house. I missed my brother Jason. He was the one in the house who I always opened up to and went to when I had a problem. I began reminiscing on all of the good times we had. Then reality hit me. I remembered Melany has always had a huge crush on Jason. "Maybe i should text Melany and tell her he's here." I thought. "That might make her feel better."

Me: Hey Mells! guess who's here!

Melany: who?

Me: Jason!! you should come over! :)

Melany: i'm on my way! I can't wait to see him! he will be mine one day! I'm not giving up now! See you soon

I clicked the lock button on my phone, shoved it in my jeans pocket and went down stairs
