Chapter 12 Wedding vows

Today was the day. we were all so busy and Melany was freaking out about every little thing.

"Katie get the door the wedding cake is here"! Mother yelled from the bathroom. I was in the process of curling my hair. When mother hollered for me I dropped it on my bare foot. "outch"! I said. I ran to the door.

It wasn't the cake. It was Amy Wood the towns news broadcaster.

"Can I help you"? I asked.

"Katie is it true that your best friend Melany Cash is marrying your older brother"? She asked. The camera was so close to my face I wanted to punch it.

"Yes, now if you will excuse me we have a wedding to get ready for." I said. I was just about to close the door in her face when she said, "Katie have you ever thought Melany could have anything to do with the murders in her family, and maybe even Angelica's murder"? I felt my face start to turn then I saw nothing but red. "Let me tell you something" I began. "Melany Elizabeth Cash wouldn't hurt a fly, let alone her own family"! My face began to turn pale again. "I know in my heart my best friend wouldn't commit such a terrible crime." I slammed the door In her face and walked away.

"It wasn't the cake." I told mom and I walked back into my room.

We all gathered at the church and sat down. The wedding started and seem to last like forever. Finally the part we have all waited for. "Melany do you take Jason to be your husband."

"I do."

"Jason do you take Melany to be your wife"?

"I do."

"You may now kiss the bride." Jason did just that. After the wedding we all piled into cars and headed back to the house for lunch. Around 7:30 that evening Melany and Jason headed off to the beach three thousand miles away for their honeymoon.
