Along the Way: [Noctis X Reader]

Chapter 4: Arriving in Lestallum

[Name] POV:

Gladio earlier ago had received a call from his sister, who has taken refuge in Lestallum, a shopping-like area which you didn't know well, due to usually always being in the castle and Insomnia.

Arriving, you noticed all the people with shopping bags, eating, and saw some food vendors selling treats that would make anyone drool at the sight of them.

All 5 of you exited the Regalia as you headed straight towards the hotel where Gladio's sister said she'd be.

While the 5 of you were walking through the city, you noticed people whispering and though you couldn't actually hear them, you thought it was most likely about you and Noctis since he's mostly seen around his more commonly seen friends, not a member of the KingsGlaive.

You kept quiet as the 5 of you walked into the Leville Hotel and waited for your room to be arranged.

All of a sudden, a girl dressed in all black came running down the stairs and yelled, "Gladdy!" she waved at Gladio."Iris!" Gladio said excited as we all walked over to her.

"It's so great to see you again!" Prompto said "Indeed" Ignis replied, as Iris took notice of you, and seeing your robes, she said cheerfully, "Hi! You must be another one of Prince Noctis' guards!" You smiled as she took a look at your clothes.

"I love your clothes! They have such a sense of style!" It wasn't much, just a leather jacket, a black top and jeans with some boots.

"Let's go shopping! I haven't shop with anyone else besides Gladdy" Iris stated but before you could protest, she grabbed you by the hand and walked out of the hotel.

Noctis POV:

It was funny to see [Name] shy, she's usually always so tough, especially in combat. We headed to Iris' room which Gladio got an extra key from the front desk as we opened the door to find the two beds look like they haven't even been touched.

Prompto jumped onto the bed enjoying at how soft the beds actually were. I sat down on the bed pondering to myself as the sun began to set. I still wondered on what I was going to do with my mixed feelings for [Name].

All of a sudden, Prompto sat down next to me and teasingly said, "Thinking about [Name]?" I was shocked at first as the same warm feeling filled my cheeks similar to that night with [Name].

"W-What?! N-No!" I finally sputtered out "Come on dude, you're being too obvious" "Obvious about what?!" I yelled still flustered as Prompto got up and slowly started to walk away before he turned and looked at me and said...

"You like [Name], don't you?"

I began panicking in my head wondering what to say next when I stupidly said, "What? N-No I don't!" "Noct, You stutter when you lie". I couldn't help but admit it, but I didn't respond because of the knock at the door, already knowing who it was.

The door opened showing Iris and [Name] with lots of bags in hand but [Name] was carrying the most but seemed to handle fairly well, when I remembered she would usually always train with Cor on her free time before she officially became apart of the KingsGlaive.

[Name] POV:

You were so relieved when you finally made it back to the room, you were completely exhausted from carrying all those bags that you fell onto the bed back first and despite it not being a problem, you were still left sore, but you needed a small workout after all that's happened.

Throughout shopping, you didn't want to buy anything using Iris' money, but she still bought you a few things for you to try on despite the amount of Gil it costed.

"Welcome back" The familiar voice seemed to wash all of your exhaustion away as you sat back up glancing over to Noctis and Prompto.

"What did you guys do when we were gone?" You asked, in between breaths. "Oh, Noct and I were talking about how much he-" Prompto was interrupted by Noctis who covered his mouth with his hand before he revealed Noctis' most sacred secret.

Oblivious, and exhausted, you just ignored your two friends and just went to the bathroom to prepare yourself for bed.

As you entered the restroom, you turned on the shower, letting the warm water cool the emotions swirling in your head.

Noctis POV:

As [Name] entered the restroom, I waited for the shower head to turn on, before letting Prompto go. When I did, he confronted me yelling.

"Dude, what was that for?!" "What do you think you're doing?!" I yelled at him still indecisive on what will happen to me and [Name].

"Why can't you just tell her?!" Prompto yelled back as Iris walked up nervously, and carefully asked, "What's going on between you two?".

Prompto shields his mouth using his hand and lowered his voice to the point I just roll my eyes.

"Noct has a little crush on [Name]"

I slap him on the back of the head, "Ow! Geez, rude much?". He rubbed his head in pain, giving a me a cold look, "Look who's talking" I shot back, as Iris finally steps in.

"So why don't you just tell her?"

This time I didn't protest since at least Iris was a little more reasonable to talk to. "Luna and I are supposed to get married. After all that's happened between [Name] and I, what am I supposed to do?".

I sit down on the bed and Prompto, still in pain from my attack on his head, has the nerve to say, "Noct, being thoughtful? That's a first". I give him the coldest look that makes him shake in his boots.

"I'll be outside.."

He actually does and Iris helps me regain my attention. "[Name] would understand wouldn't she? You know her well enough to know what kind of person she is".

"Guess not".
