Chapter 7: The Power Within

3rd Person POV:

It's been at least a week since you've had that strange encounter with Lady Lunafreya giving you that blessing but within the week, you've been getting stronger, mentally, and physically.

The five of you have also been traveling to Royal Tombs finding the weapons of the past kings that Noctis needs to collect.

[Name] POV:

You were getting ready to head out to another Royal Tomb along with the others, when you took a glance at the marking Lady Lunafreya supposedly gave you.

You smiled as Prompto came into the room, "Hey, [Name], I got some great news" You perked up, seeing the excited blonde's expression. "Which is?" "Cid has managed to get a boat for us to use to get to Altissia".

You were so surprised by his words that you started having mixed emotions thinking about the wedding between Noctis and Luna. "That's great, we can finally head to Altissia" You plastered a fake smile on your face but knew this wedding was for the best.

He only kissed you to express his feelings before he would marry Luna. But it was your task to protect the future king on his way to Altissia. You never imagined you would fall for him along the way.

"We'll be waiting for ya!" Prompto exited the hotel room as you removed the fake smile.

You were happy for him, even though you had developed feelings for him along the way, but it was all planned from the beginning, he was going to marry Luna, no matter what happened. You still kept your head high, trying to remain happy for Noctis like always.

You left the room and headed straight towards the lobby, where you found Iris hanging out. Seeing Iris reminded you of the times with your family. Shopping, she had never shopped with anyone else besides Gladio, so it was a nice experience for both of you, despite the outcome being sore after months without training.

She approached you, with a smile, "I'm so sad to see you go! But I'll see you one more time before you guys head off to Altissia" She gave you a hug, you were like the sister she never had, she cherished every moment of it.

She pulled back and whispered, "Good luck with Noctis" She looked back at you with a smile before she laughed, you blushed, because she knew the feelings between the both of you.

You walked to the parking area where the Regalia would mostly likely be as you took one last look at Lestallum before you would head to Altissia.

"Ready to go?" Gladio asked. You nodded and everyone hopped into the car as you started heading to one of the last tombs.

Wind flew by your face as the sun was slowly descending. "The sunset is beautiful" You mentally noted. "This is as far as the car will take us" Ignis parked the car as close as he could before everyone had exited the car.

"Do we have to walk~?"

"What? You want to wait out here in the dark?"

"Never mind"

"Good one, [Name]".

The 5 of you were about to head back into the Regalia when an empire ship flew by above your heads noticing you.

Someone jumped down from the ship in heavy armor. "Well, isn't it the future king and his lowly friends".

Aranea Highwind.

She moved her eyes toward you. "And who's this? Another straggler you brought along?" Noctis stood in her way, his eyes began flashing red summoning his sword as the others drew their weapons.

"Don't you dare touch her" "How sweet, the future king protecting a weakling like her" she cooed, making you grow irritated. You pushed Noctis to the side and approached her, wanting to show your true strength.

"If you think I'm weak, then I'll prove it to you" You stepped up, not afraid to back down.

"[Name], what are you doing?" Noctis asked worrying about your safety.

You summoned a barrier between you and the others as you heard pounding on the barrier, most likely by Noctis. "[Name]! Don't do it! You're going to get hurt!" You turned around, facing Aranea, without even hesitating to look behind you.

"This should be fun" Aranea had a smirk that you would enjoy removing. You summoned your katana, that would go against Aranea's spear.

She quickly went for an attack from above, using her speed to her advantage. You quickly analyzed where she would and dove to dodge her aerial attack.

Once she landed, you warped into her, kicking her into the barrier, dropping her spear in the process.

"Who's the weak one now?"

The mandala from your hand began to spread, and although it was covered by your gloves, it had grown up your arm and onto your shoulder, slowly reaching your neck as well.

She quickly grabbed her spear and tried to stab you through the stomach, but missed, and only ripping your gloves, exposing the mandala. Aranea gasped seeing it, and eventually, she jumped up back onto her ship and flying off.

After she left, the barrier faded and Noctis came running over to your kneeling figure. "[Name], what was that?" "I...don't know" You held your head as the mandala began fading back into the marking on your hand.

"That mandala"

We all looked at Ignis "What about it?" You covered your mandala with your other hand.

"That mandala is very rare, and extremely powerful for those who wield it" You took a glance at it remembering when Luna had blessed you with it.

"That was insane, it could possibly even help us in the near future" Prompto said "Yeah, great job out there, [Name]" Gladio patted you on the back.

"Thanks, guys".

Aranea POV:

"Have you come with any new information about the future king?"

"No, but something of that glaive of his will sure help us if we manage to get her on our side"

"Oh? And what might that be?"

"She possesses a mandala".

"Wonderful...".

"You must know what your task is now, don't you?"

"Yes, Iedolas".

I'm going back and reading my old chapters and god, they are really bad story-writing. Luckily, I've gotten better X3
