Chapter 13: Face to Face

[Name] POV:

You had an evil grin, preparing yourself to gain the crystal's power.

You took one last look at the mandala, it began to glow, which meant it was ready to absorb the crystal's power.

You smiled as you started heading to the crystal's chamber.

You were walking down the hall, when a magitek came to your side, "Prepare the daemons, and don't forget our new special ones" The magitek nodded as you had an obnoxious smirk.

Inside the necklace, you were still chained, and you couldn't connect with Noctis again, so you tried calling him, inside your head, hoping to warn him.

"N-Noctis, can you hear me?" You managed to say, which luckily your other half couldn't hear.

You didn't hear a response, but still continued anyway, "I'm going after the crystal, you have to hurry!"

Your head ached communicating so you couldn't proceed with your warning, all you could do was struggle, and watch, knowing your soon-to-be fate.

Noctis...

I'm sorry...

Noctis POV:

We were just flying when a sudden rocket hit the airship as Aranea struggled to land it safely.

It was no use, we had to jump, we all managed to escape, and luckily Aranea managed to make it out on time just as the airship exploded.

We hid behind a cargo container, as magiteks started to look for us, Aranea managed to take a few down, before we were spotted.

We all tried to summon our weapons, but they didn't appear. "Our weapons, they're stuck!" I yelled, "Come on!" Aranea ran, slicing through magiteks with us behind her, as we went through closing gates, Aranea stopped at the entrance.

"Aranea!"

"Go! I can take care of these guys!" The gates closed as we just saw Aranea go into the line of fire.

"Something must be blocking us from using our weapons" Ignis stated, "Do you think [Name] is behind all this?" "Who else?" Galdio replied as we all heard the voice that we were going after.

"Look who it is, the prince and his friends trying to stop me" [Name] laughed, anger grew inside me, "Let [Name] go!"

"And what's the fun in that?"

"You're done for! You can't win!" I yelled into the abyss.

"Well, things change, Prince Noctis." The metal doors in front us opened, revealing daemon Ravus, and Versatel.

We all stood back, as we watched darkness consume what used to be Ravus and Versatel.

"What do we do now?" Prompto asked worried filled his voice. "We fight!" I summoned my sword, this time, it worked as the others were able to summon theirs.

We charged in, Gladio and I with Ravus, and Prompto and Ignis fighting Versatel.

They were incredibly strong, before I noticed a mandala on the back of their hand, similar to [Name]. I warped onto a metal beam, and charged into Ravus from behind, which slowly made him start to fade away.

Gladio and I assisted the others with Versatel, and we all managed to take him down together. "Let's go. No time to waste". The gates opened once more, before suddenly closing on us, with me on the other side with the guys on the other.

"Guys?!" I began pounding on the door, hearing their calls of my name come from their mouths.

I looked over a monitor on a keypad, daemons started approaching them, they turned around, summoning their weapons once more, before the camera to the loading bay was cut off.

I heard her voice in my head, "Poor Noctis, powerless, without his friends" I tried to ignore it as I ran through the halls, hoping to find the gate to the crystal.

"How does it feel?"

"Being alone?"

"Left in the dark?"

"Now you understand what she felt like!".

"You two really are meant for each other".

"I will stop you. You're not getting away with this.."

I ran into a another loading bay, but I heard an announcement.

Gate closing in a time frame of 60 seconds.

I didn't hesitate to stop and think, I ran as fast I could to get through the gate before it closed.

I summoned my sword as I ran through daemons, slicing through them while sprinting as fast as I could towards the gate.

Gate closing in a time frame of 10 seconds.

I was still a few feet behind, but I managed to slide through the gates, and as I stood up, I noticed the crystal, with someone about to absorb it.

"[Name]! Stop!" She hesitated, and looked behind her, she had a wide smirk that easily showed her mandala, consuming her.

"We finally meet, Noctis" She tried greeting me, with the glowing lifeless, green eyes. My eyes began burning red "Let. [Name]. go."

She laughed, and said "You want her? You can have her!".

She ripped off the necklace around her neck and tossed it on the ground as it slid a few feet in front of me, but it soon took the form of [Name].

I ran to her, kneeling by her lifeless body. I tried shaking her, doing whatever I could do to try and revive her.

I looked back at the mandala [Name], as my eyes began burning brighter than ever.

"What did you do to her?!" She grinned.

"I've drained her dry, she's nothing but a lifeless vessel now" I picked up [Name] in my arms, in ached me seeing her like this.

I turned around and placed her on the floor, saying last one goodbye before facing the one that took her away from me.

"You won't get away with this!" I yelled, as a blue mandala appeared behind me, as I drew my sword.

She laughed once more, "I already have". A similar mandala appeared behind her as well, but white as she drew her katana.

"Let's end this" I muttered, as she replied, "Gladly".

We charged at each other, with no means of stopping as I was about to fight my toughest battle...
