"Alright, I'll leave you alone," Aaron said and made a step back. He was being increasingly annoying.
The first time he had asked Elias if he was hungry, the second time he had asked him if he knew where his uncle was and the last time he had asked him if he knew which ingredients he needed for pancakes, which was a weird question considering the fact they were in the evening.
This time, when he leaned forward peeking from his shoulder, Elias had just asked him what was wrong with him. Aaron got quiet for a long moment but then he sighed and admitted he was curious on what he was doing.
Elias had been leaning on his desk for hours doing god knows what and Aaron certainly didn't like sitting quietly in the back, he desperately needed his attention, and when he didn't, he sat by the window pouting like a child.
Moments after, Aaron started giggling uncontrollably.
"Aaron, do you mind?" Elias sighed. "I'm working here."
"You're missing quite a scene."
Elias jerked up, he turned to see his friend looking out the window. Aaron seemed very amused.
"Why? What happened?"
"Drama drama," Aaron chuckled "man I love this neighborhood." the blond got up and joined his friend peeking from the curtains.
Elias was now more curious, the street was full of people gathered in groups, some pointing and whispering at a house across from them. Elias knew that house, Michael and Christine Taylor's house; they were a nice religious people that everyone took as model. When He first came to town they knocked on the door welcoming him into town with a basket of freshly made muffins that Jane Taylor, their daughter, handed him with a smile.
"Some woman went screaming on the street accusing her husband of having an affair with some waitress," Aaron started "apparently they have a daughter that goes to our school."
"Jane." Elias whispered. "Wait you heard them all the way from here?"
There was a pause before Aaron stated.
"So what are you working on?"
Elias huffed "Seriously? just wait a little bit longer,"
"Yeah, ehm let me think...No, thanks," Aaron complained he could hear the frustration in his voice.
Elias turned around and looked at him with his whiskey eyes smiling "fine but don't touch anything," he surrendered.
Aaron jumped all hipped; he looked at the desk that displayed three items: a black pen, an agenda and the book they took from Brian's house.
"What are you doing with the black book?"
"I'm making a personal copy it might come in handy when Derek decides to show up again."
"Good thinking"
"thank you"
"it's weird you know," Aaron admitted "how we easily got our hands on it"
"what do you mean?"
"Well it says in the first few pages that it's a magical tome that gets passed through generations of the same race" he explained "besides all the spells and craft the book contains many information about them including the magical community like every demon existing so far,"
"listed in ranks, yeah I've read some, but wouldn't that be like exposing them to their foes?" Ely deduced rapidly.
"Exactly ,when the book is not in its owner's possession it makes them weak and more vulnerable having their secrets out in the open"
