"I want to speak to you, alone."
Elias exchanged looks with the huntsman by his side, the seer refused to answer Clay's question, demanding to only speak to him. She wasn't in a position to make any demands and they didn't want to give her any advantage.
Aaron was the first one to oppose the idea of leaving him alone with her; the woman was a master of deception, one word is enough to infuse her wicked thoughts. Clay for once had the same outlook of the situation; to his experience approaching a snake will only get you bitten.
But Elias was too eager to know so there he was, sitting in front of her, not even on the other side of the makeshift table. Close enough that with the slack in her chains she could touch him if she tried.
"I see the huntsman changed his mind," she said "Wise man."
Elias shrugged "I'm good at persuasion."
She tilted her head in a silent question as he offered her a glass of water, which she took immediately.
Was this the new plan, then? Play nice to loosen her tongue?
The seer raised her glass slightly at him, who smirked and nodded as she took a drink. The cold water spun through her chest, cooling her as she watched that small smile on Elias' lips.
"So what's this? Don't we need a couch if you're going to delve into my psyche?" the seer looked him up and down with one eyebrow raised. "Or delve into your lost days, for that matter."
He didn't flinch and she was disappointed.
"You wanted to talk to me and here I am, listening." He told her.
"Of course time is precious; some have less than a day to live." She responded, watching every movement in Ely's face. One of her best weapons was talk riddles. Depending on the target, coming on strong or playing dumb could make all the difference in the world. But Elias didn't look horrified by the idea of talking to her.
He didn't seem all that interested either, but the seer wasn't used to good things, so she'd lowered her expectations and life was easier.
"Isaac you mean?" The boy asked "You already said he was going to die, tell me something I don't know like, Um, how he dies or why Coulson kidnapped my friend and where's he keeping him?"
The seer put the glass down by her feet "Do you remember when you came here months ago?"
Elias shrugged not seeing any relevance to what he asked "Yeah, it was like the first time I've ever been here." He looked down at the empty glass on the floor "But then it felt right, it felt like home."
"Because it is," the seer said "This place is your home. Our safe haven, he called it. It almost felt like a dream."
"What are you talking about? Who is he?"
"Well Coulson as you call him, he promised us a dream land, a place where we can live together without the fear of neither humans nor hunters."
"He did? How?"
"A spell."
A spell?
"A seven ingredient spell that will reverse the polarity of the two worlds," Clay said tracing the page of the book with his finger before he moved to the board and started drawing a pentagram. "Did she say anything else?"
"Yeah, something about the devil's spawn's reborn," Elias replied tip toeing to peek through Clay's shoulders. "Whatever that means."
Aaron gasped "He wants to bring back Leon?!"
