No one is so brave that he is not disturbed by something unexpected.
The hunters stood there for a moment astonished, before the elder one snapped out of it and made his way to the door.
"Wait." was Aaron's immediate reaction.
Shane turned around annoyed. "What?"
"There are mirrors in the hallway too, do you want this to go all over again?" he explained.
Elias nodded "Yeah before we head out we need a plan." He said wondering around the table, taking quick glances at everything in the room. Aaron got the hint and started looking with him.
"What are you doing?" Brian was first to ask. Aaron glanced over at the shattered mirror and saw the chair Derek threw earlier.
"Here." He nudged Elias as he grabbed the chair and started hitting it on the ground.
"You don't have to do that...You know...the chair is dead," muttered Brian while Elias took the broken leg and handed it to him "We'll break the hallway's mirrors with this."
Aaron took a piece of wood and continued the idea, "We'll split, I'll go to the east stair case and Derek will take the west while you guys find the front door."
Derek nodded and patted Elias on the shoulder "Don't let him out of your sight."
Aaron smiled at Elias and walked toward the door with Derek "Be careful." He said as he disappeared behind the frame. Shane could hear the smashing sounds echoing in the hallway, he was surprised the demons even suggested to stay behind while the others escaped.
While he escaped.
His pride was hurt, however he didn't have time to sit and wonder. He heard his sister calling him, shaking him to reality until his eyes shot open.
"Come on, guys!" Elias called out a hint of irritation mixed with desperation in his voice.
"No," Shane whispered. Kimberly looked at him puzzled; she was holding his hand and pulling him toward the door.
"Tim! Take her," he ordered.
"Neh?" Timmy fretted "Aren't you coming?"
"No, there's no way I'm going to let those two defend our honor," he said fists clenched "I'm going after you. Now go."
Timothy grinned "Alright, don't die coz." Shane grinned back as he brought his fist up.
Before Kimberly had a chance to react her cousin took her hand and dragged her out of the living room with Elias and Brian, leaving Shane behind as he loaded his gun.
The next several minutes are utter chaos, everyone's running around breaking mirrors and cutting phone cords; Aaron was on the second floor when he crossed over Derek in the other side. Not that it mattered; all he needed was a distraction for the others to find the front door.
"Well I didn't see this one coming." He admitted.
Derek looked around suspiciously "Me neither, Do you think it's a trap?" Aaron mumbled a probably when a phone rang behind him, he immediately went white.
Derek huffed and held the phone close to his ear.
You tricked me into it,
It's your fault, your fault!
Curse you demon! Curse you!
Derek and Aaron exchanged looks as the door next to them opened suddenly knocking them down on the floor. Derek landed right on Aaron's abdomen. "Dude, get off me!" Aaron hissed and Derek growled, he seemed to sense a presence, he glanced over his shoulder. There was a girl leaning against the door frame.
She pulled her long strawberry blonde hair "Oh man what a shame!I really enjoyed that position." she giggled.
"Who are you?" Aaron got up alarmed.
"I think the right question is who are YOU," She grinned "You're trespassing."
"So are you." Derek informed.
"No, I don't think so," she shook her head "this is my home."
Derek raised an eyebrow at her.
"Is it?" Aaron said, in an aggravatingly thoughtful tone.
"Yes, and you're trespassing," she repeated "now, I can't let you go."
"That's not good." Aaron mumbled to himself as she continued, she had her head cocked to one side "Daddy and I won't let you go!"
The girl chuckled, and quick as a flash she jerked down the carpet hanging beneath their feet. They fell with a sound of soft collapse.
"She's possessed?"Derek shook his head.
Next to him flat on his stomach, Aaron in a choked voice said, "No shit Sherlock!" he stumbled to his feet, gripping the piece of wood.
The girl laughed insanely "Toys!" she clapped her hands together and a dark blade appeared rising from the floor to her hands "Let's play!"
With a wave of her blade the piece of wood fell into shreds, Aaron's mouth dropped to the floor as the girl leaped at him, but didn't seem to reach him, there was a blow that sent her spinning to the ground, coughing. Aaron stood there speechless; he saw a slim figure standing in the open doorway. Shane.
The girl started to get to her feet "NO!" She screamed and the floor heaved under their feet. Aaron stumbled and nearly fell, again, catching at the wall for support. When he looked up the girl was gone and the floor stood still.
Shane lowered his arms. He was blinking, mouth slightly open. He looked as astonished as Aaron was.
"What the fuck was that?" he said.
Derek sat up"Where did she go?"he asked and Aaron made a sound "Were you napping grandpa?"
"What is He doing here?" Derek glared at the hunter.
"Oh! Where are the others? Are they okay?" Aaron snapped in realization.
Shane looked away, somehow embarrassed "I don't know, I j-just served my part as a distraction. Who was that girl?"
Aaron waved his armed around "I'm not sure; I think it's this guy's daughter." he said pointing at the ceiling.
"Or what's left of her. She was possessed." Derek stated. Aaron watched him as he limply leaned against the wall. "Hey, you ok?"
"I'm all right, it's the others you should worry about." he said, and pushed him aside.
Aaron sighed "Yeah, I hope they don't cross over trouble like we did and find the exit."
