"You and I have somewhere to be."
Short of breath and shoulders hunched, Timothy looked at the huntsman with a worried gaze. Clay in the other hand was calm and lost in his own head as he open the door for the boy to get out.
Shane and his sister went to get some lunch five minutes ago, leaving Timothy with a crushing sensation that he was being punished for something he didn't do.
Or perhaps he did something wrong.
"Where are we going?" he asked holding his bag tightly as if it's going to be ripped of his hands.
Clay closed the door wiping the handle carefully with a tissue "There." He said pointing at the house across.
"Harper's house?" Tim winced "Why?"
Under the incredulous eyes of his youngest son, Clay took out his phone "Isaac needs your technical expertise." He said, feeling weird saying Isaac's name like that.
"Expertise?" Tim echoed fiddling around with his faded sweat's sleeves. What expertise? since when I have expertise? He wondered. He watched his father walk across the road with his phone in his ear.
"Are you coming soon? Or should I break the door and get inside?" Clay said through the phone.
I see the cleaners finished the job.
Clay narrowed his eyes then turned around to find the other Huntsman parking in front of his house. He hung up.
Timothy watched closely as Aaron, the demon they tried to kill, got out of the car with the huntsman like they were best buddies. "What the hell?" he muttered following Clay's quick footsteps.
"Ah Timothy!" Isaac approached him, he was strangely happy to see him.
Clay raised an eyebrow "You remembered his name, I'm impressed."
"Don't worry he'll forget it by tomorrow." Elias smirked rubbing more salt on Isaac's wound. He may be a little being, but his gaze was enough to be intimidating.
"Okay!" the shaggy huntsman clapped his hand "Can we not all go against me? Thank you."
Aaron, noticing the weird looks he was getting from the hunter, decided to add something to the conversation "Yeah! Let's get inside have a drink and speak above all." he announced with a frown.
"That's the spirit!" Isaac grinned pushing his son ahead of him.
Timothy followed them blankly.
The living room was oddly crowded that day, Timmy sat in the big leather couch next to Clay while Isaac fetched glasses of water and Ely disappeared upstairs. Aaron just stood awkwardly in the back as usual.
"So..." Isaac started, filling their glasses before any of them had the time to refuse.
"Out with it Harper," Clay said with a roll of eyes. "What is it that you need?" he knew him too well.
Isaac swallowed with difficulty, by the time he formed his words Ely hastened down the stairs.
"So, I know that taking footage from school without asking is kind of illegal but even if we ask they're definitely not giving anything to us," he said swiftly as he took off his hoodie and threw it at his father's face like he was some kind of hanger "I could ask Emily but she's way in too deep so and I don't wanna get her into trouble-"
"Thank you for that," Isaac interrupted putting his hoodie aside "nice start." he give him a thumbs up
Clay lift up a hand to his chin "What exactly IS in these footage?" he crossed his legs.
"The person manipulating the shape shifter." Isaac answered fiddling with the empty glass he held in his hands.
"And you want me to get them for you?" Timothy continued "Because you have no idea how to do it and I'm the best hacker you know-" he trailed off, staring into space.
"I'll help too, I know some tricks." Elias explained before sitting down on a cushion.
Timothy snorted finding that hard to believe "Sure."
"Hey!" The blond exclaimed offended "What? You don't think I can do it?"
"Neh not really." The hunter admitted. "Can you even access their server?"
Ely made a sound "I've done it like a million time."
"No you didn't."
"Oh yes I did! Want to see?"
"Fine."
"Fine!"
They both got up suddenly, heading up stairs leaving two confused huntsmen looking at each other.
"Great a nerd show down." Aaron rolled his as he followed.
Clay looked up at him walking away, scanned him lengthily then turned to Isaac. "You're still in good terms with the demon I see."
"I don't see you chasing him away either." Isaac answered with the same amount of irony.
Clay raised an eye brow at that "My children can protect themselves, can yours?" he said defiantly.
Isaac, who had just buried his head in his hands, gently lowered his hands and looked up at him. "He can, after I train him."
The other man straightened up "Are you stupid?" he gritted teeth. "You want to make the same mistake again?!"
"I know," he said. "I mean, things could have been different if-"
Seeing that he still didn't intend to admit anything, Clay pinched his arm making him wince.
"Ouch! What the heck?! What are you twelve?" he looked up at him, mortified.
"And you're an idiot!"
They stared at each other and Isaac bit his lip.
Clay sighed giving up "I'm the fool, following you with every ridiculous decision you make."
Isaac gave him a weak smile "Then I guess we're both stupid."
