josh was furious as he drove. of course his mother had to call him right at that moment. of course she double checked his plans with ashley's parents. he should have been smarter about the whole thing. how could he have been so stupid?

he just wished he'd had more time with tyler. he lived so far away, he didn't know when he'd be able to see him again. he really didn't even know if  he'd be able to see him again, especially not for the duration of the school year. thank god he only had a month or so left.

he'd only wished that he'd stayed at tyler's until the storm had gone away. even through his frustration through his mother he was anxious beyond belief. the heavy wind was obstructing his vision, and the strong wind was pushing him from side to side. it took all of his strength to keep himself from swerving right into oncoming traffic, having one too many close calls.

he tried to push through, he tried to drive with a clear head, but no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't calm down. he turned on his indicator and pulled off to the side of the road. with shaking hands, he pulled out his phone and called tyler.

"josh?" tyler answered the phone, confused to be hearing from him so soon.

"h-hey tyler."

"is everything okay?" tyler asked, picking up on the shakiness in josh's voice.

"no. i-i... i'm pulled over on the side of the road right now, i cant handle the storm by myself," josh answered.

"alright.." tyler said. "is there any way i can help?"

"i dont know, um.. i think i just need you here. w-with me."

josh heard tyler sigh on the other end, which only made him feel worse. he didnt want to be a bother to tyler, but he didnt know what else to do. tyler made him feel safe earlier, so he thought calling him for help now would be his best bet.

"okay... how far away are you? i can meet you there, and we can wait out the storm together."

"um.." josh looked around for a sign, but couldn't see anything. "i dont know, ty. i think i drove for thirty minutes."

"okay, i'll come find you. just stay put. try to take deep breaths."

"please hurry," josh said. "i need you."

"i'll be there as soon as i can."
