Chapter five

"Hello." Sara said, feeling embarrassed that she had a call during her date.

"Hey, is this Sara?"

"Yes, who is calling?"

"This is Victoria Memorial, we would like to inform you that your mother is in our ICU. She was in a car accident earlier tonight."

Sara was weak. She dropped her phone and started to cry. Julia asked what was wrong. Sara said through her weeping, her mother was in the hospital.

"I'll go with you if you need someone there. " Julia wanted to support her. She knew what it was like to lose someone.

Sara shook her head yes and they left. Julia paying for the bill. It was a 15 minute ride to the hospital. When they got there Sara waited to see her mother. About five hours later, Sara was able to see her mother. She walked into the room, Julia following her.

"Mom, can you hear me?"

"Hi, sweetie." Her mother saw the tears in her eyes.

"I thought I lost you."

"No, sweetie. I'm her just some broken bones. Who's your friend?" though her mother was in pain she was more worried about her daughter.

"Mom, this is Julia. We were on a date when I got the call. She's so sweet that she decided to come with me."

"Nice to meet you Julia"

Julia said hi and told Sara she would wait outside. About an hour later Sara emerged from the room. It was close to 3am both Sara and Julia were exhausted and needing the sleep.

"We can go to my place, nothing sexual."

"I would love that. I hate to admit it but I don't want to be alone." Sara replied

Julia drove Sara's car so she could rest. The drive was quite but not at all awkward. Julia pulled into her driveway. She looked and saw how peaceful Sara looked. She got out of the car and walked to help Sara.

Sara had cried so much she didn't know how weak she was. Julia helped her to the bedroom and helped her change into some sweats and a t-shirt. After she got into her pajamas she laid beside Sara.

As Julia laid there Sara turned over and wrapped her arms around Julia's muscular stomach. Julia smiled, she felt so much comfort in Sara's touch. She slowly drifted off to sleep, holding Sara in her arms.

Julia woke up before Sara, who was still in her arms. It was a Sunday and she hoped to spend some of it with Sara. She looked at the clock 8:37am. She slowly got up and went for breakfast and coffee.
