Julia and Sara woke to the alarm blaring from the clock. It was Monday and both women had work.
Sara put on her matching scrubs. Julia, however, had on a black pencil skirt, that hugged her curves. She added a white silk blouse and a pair of black pumps.
"You look sexy. As always."
Julia smiled "Well, you are even sexier. A nurse with a body like yours, I'll be sick anytime."
They laughed. Sara had made breakfast; eggs, bacon and pancakes. They sat down having an hour before work.
"So, about yesterday. Are you ready to talk about it?"
Julia sat her cup down and wiped her mouth. "Really, there's not much to say. She left. I have no real memories with her or about her. It's just like an empty space."
"Are you gonna talk to her?" Sara asked a face of concern washed over her.
"No. If she does come back I'll talk to her to see what it is she wants. But, other than that I still want nothing to do with her."
Sara said ok, not wanting to ruin Julia's day. They finished breakfast and headed to work.
Julia pulled up to her office her heels hitting the cold concert.
"Julia! Hey Julia!"
A man in a dark blue fitted suit ran to catch up with her.
"Hey Kent. I didn't see you."
"It's ok. No one really ever does."
Kent was 5'6". He had short brown hair and bright blue eyes. He was Julia's first and only friend at the office.
They walked to the front doors, Kent held it open.
"How was the move this weekend?" Kent asked.
"Great." Julia said in a low tone.
"Sorry, did something happen with you and Sara?"
Julia never went into her personal life at work, but Kent was a great friend. She had come to love him like the brother she never had.
"No, Sara and I are great. It's just"
Before Julia could tell Kent what happened, the office gossip, Faith started walking over.
"Good morning Mr. Brigham, your coffee is on your desk." Faith said, throwing a smile to Julia.
"Juju we can talk later at lunch. Ok?"
"Yea, that's fine."
Kent was the only one who called Julia, Juju. She liked it, sort of. Julia walked towards her office.
"Good morning." Hollie said as Julia sat at her desk.
"Good morning Hollie. Anything in yet on the Colefax case?"
"No ma'am but you do have a visitor."
"Who?"
"Didn't say but I'll send her in."
Her. Julia had a tiny idea of who it may have been. She got mentally ready for the fight she knew would happen. The door open and she stepped in.
