Twenty-one

Julia and Sara had spent much of their weekend going from family to friends, showing off their engagement. The last stop they made was to Sara's parents.

They pulled up to the ranch style home. The lights were all off. Julia looked to Sara. Both had fear all over their face. "Julia, what if something happened?"

"Don't worry they maybe sleep." Julia replied, hoping to put Sara at ease somewhat.

"I don't think so." Sara said as they made their way to the door.

Sara walked to the door that was unlocked. Fear, panic and rage were beginning to form on her face. They walked into the dark home. "Mom! Dad!" Sara hadn't got an answer.

Julia stood there. "Mr. and Mrs. Jones!"

"Mom! Dad!"

Still they were unanswered. Sara made her way to the backdoor. Julia followed, hoping the were just gone.

"SURPRISE!"

Sara's heart dropped. Julia burst into tears. As the scanned the crowd, Mr. and Mrs. Jones walked towards them.

"Surprise honey." Nancy, Sara's mother said.

"Mom Dad, you didn't have to do this." Sara said through tears of joy.

"Now baby girl, it was an honor." Giovanni said. He pulled Sara and Julia into his large arms. "You girls are special. And don't you forget it."

Julia and Sara smiled. The party went on. Music played as they mingled with friends and family. Soon, Sara's cousin made her way to Julia.

"Hey there. I'm Sidney, Sara's cousin. I heard you're the lucky lady that snatched Sara up." Sidney had a smile on her face.

"Yes, I am. I was lucky she said yes. What did you say your name was again?" Julia asked, not really listening the first time.

"It's Sidney. But, you can call me Sid."

"Well Sid, it was nice meeting you." Julia walked away, not really wanting to talk to Sidney.

"Hey wait! We're family now we should get to know one another." Sid's smile was still planted across her face.

Julia reluctantly agreed. "Ok, I guess."

Wow this is short. But I plan on doing the last 4 chapters this weekend. I don't know about Sidney yet. I do know there are way more surprises than this.
