Julia walked the shore, the tide bringing the water to cool her feet. The sun brought a haze of purple and orange.
"How could this happen? she thinks it's ok to come back into my life and what? Be my mother. "
The moon made it's way into the sky and Julia made her way home. She walked up the steps leading to her patio, where Sara was waiting.
"Baby?" Sara said.
Julia looked up and began to cry. "Sara I'm sorry. I didn't know why to do, what to say. I just flipped."
Rubbing Julia's back Sara said, "It's ok sweetie. I understand it all."
Julia and Sara sat on the steps of the patio. Julia had no idea what to do. She had spent most of her childhood forgetting her mother. from what she looked like to the smell of her perfume.
Her mother had become apart of her past, never to be remembered again. She went to bed that night, Sara beside her, thinking of how she would even step to the woman who had abandoned her so long ago.
Julia closed her eyes hoping to get an ounce of sleep.
