Epilogue:

It's raining. Correction, it is currently pour rain down on my head. My fur is matted down completely as I run through the rain. I follow the smell of fresh rain and cinnamon through the rain as it pours down on my furry body. I should stop and wait out the rain, but I can't help the feeling of urgency in getting to the source of the smell. I have to get to the source.

I slow my pace when I come across a beautiful and large mansion of a house. I look up at it to see that one of the windows is open and the scent is coming from it. I rush to the front door and shift back. Insistently, I knock on the front door. I listen as there is rustling from a room near the front hall where the front door is. I listen as hushed whispers are shared between two people.

"I don't know who it is, but I'm going to find out who is out in this horrid rain at this time of the night. You can stand behind me to make sure that nothing happens to me." A beautiful and soft feminine voice commanded in a whisper. I listened as someone huffed from behind her.

I watched as the front door opened slightly for a woman to look out; it was only when she noticed me that she opened the door wider as her eyes widened as well. There was a man standing behind her. His arms were wound around her waist, and he looked ready to attack if need be. He was very large compared to my little body. He was really strong looking as well.

"Hello. May I come in? It's pouring outside." I asked as I looked up at them. The man looked greatly hesitant and ready to deny me entrance. But the woman looked kind.

"Of course! Please come in. You look freezing cold, sweetheart." She spoke softly to me as she moved herself and the man out of the way enough for me to enter their home. I could still smell the scent of fresh rain and cinnamon, only now it was stronger. My nose twitched as I sniffed around their home's entrance. "Roman, go grab the girl a couple of towels. Do it or sleep on the couch for the next week." She told the man. He glared lightly at her before he reluctantly let the kind woman go to grab something. I watched him the whole time as he walked away.

The kind woman gestured for me to follow her. Shivering slightly, I followed her into the room that I had heard her and the man sitting in when I'd first knocked. She sat on a large dark blue couch. She smiled at me as I stood a few feet away from her. My ears perked up when I heard the man start to make his way back to us. I could hear something rustling in his hands and against his clothing.

My head turned to look at the doorway when he came through it a few minutes later. He was holding a deep read towel in his hand. He looked at me suspiciously before he looked behind me at the kind woman. He moved quickly over to the woman where he sat next to her. The woman took the towel from his hands with a scowl before she slowly stood and came to me. Draping the towel over my shoulders, she wrapped me up in it before she also pulled a warm blanket around me.

I watched as the man narrowed his eyes at me. I could see that he was about to ask me questions, but I turned away from him before he could even open his mouth. I turned to look at the doorway, sniffing thoroughly before my feet moved back to the front hall. My ears perking at the sound of rushing feet coming toward me as my nose picked up an increase in the scent that I'd been following earlier, and the scent that I have kept noticing since I walked in.

I turned toward the stairs just in time for a little boy to grab me around the waist and place his lips against mine. My hands jumped to his arms as my eyes closed on their own accord. I pulled away when I couldn't hold my breath any longer. The boy just looked at me and smiled widely. I just panted continuously as I looked at him really confused. His hands only gripped my waist tighter when I tried to take a step backwards. The towel and blanket were no longer around my shoulders, and a shiver ran along the length of my spine as a million sparks prickled my skin wherever I was touching the boy.
