-CHAPTER SIX-
FLASHBACKS OF THE PAST
*"I know he did it, I just know!"
"Do you have any proof?"
"How about him not wanting me to be happy with anyone else but him!"
"That's not enough to convict him, it was dark and you couldn't see his face... you really don't have a case."
"What do you mean I don't have a case? He shot and killed the only person that made me happy!"
"There's no evidence linking him to the crime... we're sorry, but you're going to have to leave now, Miss..."
"Fine, but I will be back!"
Rhea stormed out of the police station, frustrated and hurt that her lover wasn't getting any justice. The police were no help, they couldn't find enough evidence to bring her ex to court. But, Rhea just knew it was him, without a doubt in her mind. Even though he just came and went, he had to of left some profitable evidence at the scence of the crime. He just couldn't of committed the perfect crime.
"There has to be something that I can do, something I can find..." Rhea looked up at the sky, and smiled.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure you get your justice baby..."
With that Rhea left for the college courtyard, to find the answer to her prayers- which was at least one bit of evidence, to prove that jealousy can lead you to do the most radical things imaginable...*
---
*"Rhea, you've been out here all night..."
Rhea had been snooping around the courtyard, driving herself crazy trying to find anything that could help her in the case against her ex.
"I don't care!" Rhea snapped at her best friend who had come looking for her, as Rhea continued to look around.
"Rhea, you're not helping yourself... there's nothing you can..."
"Do? That's all you ever say, is that there's nothing that anyone can do! Well, when your world goes to shit try telling me that again! Maybe you'll understand then, now leave me be!"
Rhea looked broken, inside-and-out. Her best friend noticed, and couldn't just leave her like that.
"No Rhea, I won't... because I'm going to help you..." Rhea looked up, and just ran to her best friend and hugged her, crying.
"Thank you, so much..."
"I know how much this means to you, Rhea... but, you need to get some sleep. We can start fresh in the morning..." Rhea looked at her best friend, as she tried to keep her eyes open.
"I guess you're right... first thing in the morning?"
"First thing."
Rhea smiled, as she followed her best friend back to their dorm room. Little did Rhea know though, that the proof that she needed was not too far out of her reach...*
---
*"I think I actually have a case now, maybe I can finally bring my baby some justice..."
Rhea was sitting in her dorm room, with a file in one of her hands with pictures and papers and other evidence inside of it. It had been a long month since that fateful night, but Rhea didn't stop trying- and now, she had what she needed.
Rhea smiled, as she laid on the couch and stared at the ceiling with the file pressed against her chest. She closed her eyes, and sighed. Her mind drifted back to memories when he was still alive- the way he smiled, just little things like that. There was one though, that was big and preoccupied her mind more than the rest. It was the night, that they finally had decided to do it.
