P.S English isn't my first language, so you know ;)

A few bands had played their songs, some beautiful as a lullaby and others like they were driven by madness. The difference made it fun en enjoyable, almost festival-like even. Some boys were making a campfire of deadwood they'd found on the beach and Noah handed over blankets and pillows to everyone. 'Do you have a nice evening?' he asked softly when he came to our spot. His eyes – icy blue cerulean crystals – met mine and he gave me a pillow. Thankful I took it from him and accidentally touched his hand.  A strange and confusing feeling overwhelmed me, so I quickly took a step back and cleared my throat. 'Thank you', I brought out with a trembling voice, 'and yes, I'm enjoying myself just fine.' Somehow, my action had hurt his feelings, while I really thought I had been subtle. I wanted to slap myself in the face, maybe I had been to crude by increasing the distance between us. 'Good', he said, not looking at me any longer. He walked away before I could say something. 'What was that about?' Alec asked me with curiosity. I shrugged, hoping he would let it go, 'nothing important.'

Together we walked to the campfire and took a place close to it. I welcomed the warmth of the flames and lay back in the sand, looking to the stars above me. They had always made me wonder what was important in life and what wasn't. We were so small compared to them, so void. I closed my eyes and listened to the tune someone played on the guitar. Another person joined in with the cello, what made the melody more beautiful than it already was. I sat up and found myself staring to the boy who was singing, he looked straight into my eyes and smiled.

" Today is the greatest
Day I've ever known
Can't live for tomorrow,
Tomorrow's much too long
I'll burn my eyes out
Before I get out

I wanted more
Than life could ever grant me
Bored by the chore
Of saving face"

People started clapping and singing along with the boy. I found myself doing the same thing and sang with the rest, a big smile on my face and pure happiness flowing through my body. I started dancing with my brother and a girl I barely knew. Was this madness? The girl on the cello and the boy sang with each other in a hypnotizing duet, his gaze never letting me go.

"Today is the greatest
Day I've ever known
Can't wait for tomorrow,
I might not have that long
I'll tear my heart out
Before I get out

Today is the greatest
Today is the greatest... Day
Today is the greatest... Day
That I... Have Ever... Known"

The song ended and they received a standing ovation. I couldn't resist walking to the couple; I had to know who they were. When I stood before them, I forgot all the questions I wanted to ask because of an uncontrollable power that filled the air with static. I'd never felt anything before that deadly and dangerous radiating of a person. Was I the only person who felt it? He watched me with lowered, calculating eyes that made my skin crawl. 'Jay!' Alec threw an arm around my shoulders, 'meet my little sister.'

Now they both looked at me, waiting till I would say something. But I had lost my voice. Jay lifted an eyebrow and Alec gave me a questioning look. 'R-reighley', I eventually introduced myself to him. He nodded and shifted his attention to my brother. He made clear that our conversation was considered as "done". What an arrogant bastard... 'I heard you're Jay's new neighbor', the girl from the cello stated. I turned around so I could face her, she wasn't kidding about it.

'Yeah I guess.' It sounded just as unpleased as I felt about us being neighbors and all. Together we observed the boys, till she grabbed my arm and dragged me along with her. Some other girls followed us, running to the sea and stripping of their clothes. 'What're they doing?' I wasn't going to do that, no way... 'You're in California girl, time to have some fun!' If it was up to her, this was an undiscussable thing. 'Haven't you heard of YOLO?' She laughed, pulling at my clothes and trying to get rid of my t-shirt. 'Mia, she clearly doesn't want to swim.' Noah walked toward us, a worried expression on his face as he glares at me.

'Okay, fine!' she rolls with her eyes, turns around and start running to the high waves in the distance. 'You shouldn't listen to much to her, she is...' But he didn't finish his sentence and I simply nodded in reply. Back at home I had to deal a lot with girls like Mia, the popular kind you didn't want having a fight with. It looked like things weren't any different here. 'I'm sorry about earlier', he began while going with his hand through his shoulder-length hair. It was a little bit curly and a mess at the moment, maybe he should wear it in a bun.  His action had distracted me that much that he now looked at me with a frown. 'Everything alright?' he asked, trying to hide a smile.

I blushed, 'sorry.' Was it really that obvious?

He waved it away, as if he knew how uncomfortable it made me. 'What I wanted to say is that I shouldn't have acted the way I did. I was an asshole and I'm sorry about it.' He stretched out his hand to me, 'want to do it all over?' His eyes shimmered in the dark as I took his hand, 'I'm Reighley, nice to meet you mister Charm.'

He burst out in laughing, the funny kind of laughing that makes you laugh too. 'Mister Charm huh?' He wiggled with his eyebrows, 'that sounds promising.' I slapped him teasingly and walked away, looking over my shoulder to see if he was following me. He was. 'Where're you going?' I heard him call after me, I giggled and started running, knowing exactly where I was heading to.

I kicked out my sneakers so I could feel the soft sand between my toes. 'So you're stripping after all?' I knew what kind of look he would have on his face and grinned. Before I reached the hidden spot I was looking for, he tackled me, causing us to fall down. He had his arms around my hips and I lay on top of him, breathing unsteady. 'What are you up to, Miss Flirty.' I didn't hold it any longer and giggled as a lunatic. 'Miss Flirty huh?' I said with a funny voice, copy the way he had said it. 'We would be a wonderful couple as Miss Flirty and minster Charm', he joked, letting me go so I could lie down next to him in the sand. I wished today could go on forever.  'What an amazing night it is', I whispered, meaning every word of it. 'So that means I will see you here again?' He sounded hopeful. I felt how his fingers entangled with mine and smiled. 'Yes', was my answer, 'you will.'

Awwhhh mister Charm and miss Flirty, isn't that cute? Noah is such a sweet boy
