I tap my thumbs on the steering wheel as I look up at the vaguely familiar house. I can't believe I'm doing this shit. I finally get out of my car, gathering the courage to go up to the door. I make my feet move up the marble walkway. I climb the three white steps, taking a deep breath before knocking on the door.
My hand shook as I did. Fuck. After not hearing a response, I knock again. About 10 seconds later, the door opens and a tall woman with long black hair and a bang opens the door. She wraps her robe around herself, "Yes? Uh, who are you?" She scans over me and I stuff my hands in my hoodie's pockets. "Hi, I'm-I'm Lauren. I was looking for D-," "Oh! You'rethat girl! C'min, c'min!" She leads me inside and I look around the pretty normal sized house.
"Jackie! Who was at the door?!" A high voice calls out. "Lauren, babe!" The smaller woman comes down the stairs, also wearing a robe. Her brown eyes light up when she sees me. "Lauren! Oh, my God! It's been like, what, 3 years?" She brings me in for a hug and I recuperate. I chuckle at her exaggeration. God, she's literally an older version of Camila. She pulls away and she examines me, "I've really missed your little ass!" I chuckle.

"I've missed you, too, Diane." She leads me to the living room and we sit down on the black leather couch. She takes hold of my hands, "What brings you here?" I bite my bottom lip, avoiding eye contact.
"I, uh, I wanted to talk to you about something." She furrows her eyebrows, "What is it, mami?" I take a deep breath, "It's about your sister." Diane freezes for a second. "Something wrong?" She bites her bottom lip, "I haven't talked to her since the incident. Hearing how she hurt you that way, I chewed her out. She tried to validate her actions, but nothing was adding up. Then you called me crying. You were so good to her and I was so happy. That was the first time I've seen her genuinely smile since-," I put my finger up. "I know, D."
She gives me a sad smile. I've always had a close connection with Diane. She treated me like I was her sister and was always there for me. It's hard to ask your younger siblings for advice. One hates what you do and the other is hard to get to. "So why do you want to talk about her?" I sigh. Time to get shit off of my chest.

When I got back home, I flop on my couch. I previously turned my phone off so no one would interrupt me. I turn on my phone and waited for the screen to show my lock screen. Once it did, my phone immediately blows up with messages from Mel and...Lauren? I unlock my phone to read the messages.
