Chapter 5 Jaynaria
The week flew by quickly. Pretty soon it was my birthday. So now I can say I am now officially 17.
I eagerly jumped out of bed. I grab a pretty red gown Mother had made for me. I braided my long thick red hair and tied it with a gold ribbon. There simple but adorable. Perfect for my big day.
Delicious smells drifted into my room.
I poked my head out. Mother stood in front of the fireplace.
Sweet cakes, summer rolls and spring soup was cooking. On the table poached eggs, sausage, syrup and sweet cakes awaited to be devoured. Fire Lilies brighten the room up with their color and scent.
Mother turned around. "Happy Birthday Jay!" She embraced me. "You have grown into a fine young woman. You have made me proud." Her smile was warm.
We sat down and began to eat. I went back for thirds.
Afterwards Mother began to clean up. I started to help her when she shooed me away. "Go play. Be a child. It is your birthday."
I raced out of the cottage and into the woods.
I headed straight for the meadow, my favorite place ever.
I saw a break in the trees and sprinted faster. I burst into the meadow.
Gorgeous creatures watched me. They are use to me and resume what they had been doing before i had interrupted.
A small delicate auburn mare pranced over to me.
"Hello Firea!" I hugged her.
I had know Firea's mother and grandmother. When Firea was just a filly, four years ago, she befriend me. Ever since, we have been together.
We played all morning and well into the afternoon.
I looked at the sun, checking for when I would head home.
Firea and I said our goodbyes. I started the trek home.
What a day! I'm ready for anything Mother throws at me next!
Here I come world. There's a new Phoenix waiting to be tested!
