Chapter 9 Gareth
I was unsaddling Darion, when Ewan walked up to me.
"Hey there lad! Apparently the village is throwing a festival celebrating one of their maid's 17th birthday. The Captain says we are welcome to attend. The next few days are off days. Maybe one of the village girls wouldn't mind a short tumble in the hay with you?" Ewan grinned at me.
I glared. "You don't have to mention that every time we near a settlement. What happened with Shania happened with her. That's all."
Ewan just kept grinning. "I know lad. Does isn't mean it's not fun to tease you about, especially when you react."
I turned back to Darion and steadily ignored him.
Damn it, but Ewan was right.
Why do I get embarrassed everytime Shania is mentioned or the fact I slept with her? Is God trying to tell me something? That what I did is wrong and I should regret it?
Even though it was enjoyable and fun. I grinned at the memories. Heck, I wouldn't mind doing that with her again. That's for sure.
But the red haired girl cane back to my mind. She seemed to have this confidence and sense of belonging about her. Even the way she walked showed it. And holy shit was she hot.
I flushed, checking to make sure no one else was watching me. Even Ewan was occupied by a game of cards.
I snorted.
I don't understand why they gambled. Why gamble away your earnings and likely to be in debt the next time you go somewhere?
I rolled my eyes.
Darion whinnied softly, drawing me back into the task at hand. I finish grooming her and feed her. I checked everyone else's horses and made sure that they had been taken cared of.
As I walked back to the company, I wondered what the festival would be like and if I would see the girl again.
