Chapter 14 Czarina

Shit.

Shit.

Shitty fucking shit.

Capital Knights.

No less Captain Turin, the one man who I do not want here. The one person who I knew since childhood and spurred his love for the complete and utter fucking bastard.

To this day I still felt guilty.

I do remember our first kiss.

But I rejected him, afraid of my feelings, when I thought I loved Varian.

Hmph.

Yeah fucking right.

It was all manipulation to get me in Varian's bed.

I truly loved Turin. And still do.

I could never forget his easy smile, and booming laugh.

And no less, my sister's godson is in his company. And I can tell he is  falling for my daughter.

I may not have any gifts but I do know the signs of love. And poor Gareth had them all.

If only Jay knew all the truth.

I steeled myself.

Turin came over. He took my hand and brush a gentle kiss upon the back of my hand like the perfect gentleman he was.

"Good day my lady. Your daughter is a beautiful specimen of courtesy and of a young, blooming woman"

Ahhh. How could I forget that flowery speech.

"Why thank you. I have tried my best without her father."

"May I ask what happened to him?"

I sighed. I knew he was going to ask that question.

"He left before her birth."

He was silent. "I'm sorry Lady...?" he trailed off.

"Czarina. And its is a pleasure to meet you once again Captain Turin."

He frowned in puzzlement.

Thank God Czarina is a common name.

"We have?" It was a polite inquiry.

"I use to be at court more often then my husband left me and I needed somewhere to raise my daughter, far from the politics of court. Besides its..." I hesitate.

"Its what?" Turin asked.

"Its not a safe place for her. For what she is and who her father is."

"What is she and who is her father?" Turin demanded.

"Sweet words are all we have." I sang softly instead of answering.

Turin's eyes widen. "Rina?" He breathed in surprise.

I nodded. "Her father is a dragon and she is a Phoenix."

Turin's eyes widen.

"Please don't tell anyone. Jay doesn't know who her father is. I refuse to tell her."

"Who?" he whispered.   "Who is the other Dragon I slept with, besides Varian?"

Turin froze.

I nodded.

"Yes Turin. You are her father."
