Chapter 22 Marianne
I sat, silently awaiting him. I could practically feel his confusion.
The door opened.
I met the eyes of my murderer, Varian.
"Hello there." I said amused.
His eyes went wide. "But... But... You're dead!"
I chuckled.
"Very much so. I am very dead. And don't bother asking yourself how I am here, it would blow your petty mind."
His face tightened at my insult.
I stood up and drifted to him. I concentrated on a solid form. To test it, I grabbed his arm. Inwardly I sighed in relief.
"What are you doing?" He hissed.
"Shhh... Let me show you something."
He barely had time to register my words before we were spinning into the vortex of the universe.
I pulled us to a stop on some nameless world, close to the rift from Porivon's universe into ours.
He stated at that gaping void in shock.
"What is this?" he whispered.
"The rift. You summoning Porivon widen it. And we are constantly fighting his forces now."
He just stared.
"Look closer." I urged him.
I could tell he was looking more intently.
"Are those...?"
I nodded.
His eyes became terrified and horrorstricken.
"And this is my doing?"
Again I nodded.
"How do we fix it?"
"You can't. But there is one who can."
I sent him back to ponder and process my words.
