Chapter 19 Varian

I glared at candle.

The candle I had used to communicate with the Phoenix.

I closed my eyes and tried to extract the memory of her presence. It was hard to forgot such a presence. The echo I had created seemed so real.

Wait...

Hello Varian. Missed me? Her voice murmered.

Not really. What do you want girl? And what is your name?

A silent chuckle. You desire my name? I am known as Jay. And what I want, is freedom from you. My people's freedom. You have be naughty. And by the way, I suggest you return the hellfire. It is no match for purefire.

She was gone.

Purefire...

Holy shit.

Jay was the Pure Phoenix. That complaciates everything.

I made a silent call. Porivon appeared instantly.

"What is it, Varian?"

"The girl. Her name is Jay. And.." I trailed off.

He cocked an eyebrow. "Spit it out."

"She is the Pure Phoenix."

Porivon was shocked. The first time I had ever seen him surprised.

"The Pure Phoenix has returned." He whispered. "And named Jay. Short for what though." His eyes widen. "Jaynaria. Her name is Jaynaria. But who is..." He turned to me. "What exactly happened to your wife Varian?"

I was confused. "Czarina disappeared about 17 years ago, closer to 18 years. I have assumed her dead for held captive."

"Was she with child?"

"Possible. Why may I ask?"

"Becaise I believe our little Pure Phoenix is the daughter of Czarina. And of you."

I froze.

I have a daughter. A daughter. Who was.... Shit. A Phoenix. And no less the most dangerous of the Phoenixes. The Pure Phoenix.

I knew how to find her. Find her mother, found the Phoenix.

I closed my eyes and concentrated on Czarina.

After a few minutes, I open my eyes, satisfaction on my face.

"I know where they are."

Porivon smirked, as did I.

Goodbye, Jaynaria.
