I raced out of the ambulance and ran up to the reception desk.
"Hi, I'm looking for my girlfriend, she was in the shop fire." I informed the woman at the desk, trying not to stammer.
"We've had many unidentified people from that fire. We've put their descriptions into the computer. Can you describe her for me?" She said in a calming voice. After I had described her she managed to track her down and told me that she was on the fourth floor in Ward B. I sprinted down the corridor and up the stairs. I swung the door open to her supposed room to see it empty with a lone nurse standing, writing on a clipboard.
"Where is she?" I demanded. I was aware that I was being rude but I just wanted to see her.
"I'm sorry sir, who are you looking for?" She said in a polite voice, it would have made me feel incredibly guilty if I wasn't thinking of only one thing.
"The girl who's supposed to be in here." I snapped.
"Well she's in surgery at the moment."
"What?"
"When they found her, she wasn't breathing."
"What? No that's not true, I recessitated her, she was breathing when I left her." I was just talking to myself now. "I left her alone."
"Ron." A voice snapped me out of my daze. I turned around to see Harry and Ginny in the corridor. Ginny walked up to me and wrapped her arms round me.
"It's all my fault." I muttered. Ginny looked up at me.
"What are you talking about? No it wasn't." She shook her head.
"If I hadn't of left her to go get that person out of the building she would be breathing right now." The nurse interjected.
"That was you, we heard about you. You saved that woman's life."
"You did? Don't feel guilty about that man." Harry said.
"When will I hear anything?" I asked the nurse.
"She's estimated to be out of the surgery in a few hours if it goes -" she stopped herself, looking up at me but I knew what she was insinuating; if she doesn't die. I turned around and moved to the corridor.
"Okay thank you." I heard Harry say to the nurse. There was no time to be polite. I sat down in the hard, uncomfortable hospital chairs and put my head in my hands. A minute later I felt a hand on my back.
"It's my fault." I muttered to Ginny but mainly to myself.
"No Ron, stop that, you know it isn't." She softly scolded me. I raised my head to look at her.
"If I hadn't have left her then she would be breathing right now Ginny." I snapped, my tone angry and threatening.
"Woah, okay man." Harry warned due to my tone.
"Will you two just leave?" I snarled. They were silent, looking down at me with pity in their eyes. After a minute they move, they don't leave, they sit down in the chairs opposite me. I sighed and slumped in my chair. I was glad though, I was lying when I told them I wanted them to leave, in fact I wanted the complete opposite.

"I'm going to get coffee." Harry stated, standing up and breaking the silence. We had been sitting there for what seemed like minutes but the clock on the wall told me otherwise, apparently we had been waiting in that corridor for four hours. Harry had dealt with the school and they both understood that my thoughts were too jumbled and preoccupied to talk.
"You guys want some?" I shook my head slightly, barely noticeable but Harry noticed it. Ginny stood up too.
"I'll come with you, I have to do something." They both left as the corridor drowned back into the familiar silence.
"Mr Weasley?" A voice said and I lifted my head up to see a nurse from the front desk and who promised to tell me any news, standing next to me.
"She's out of surgery." I stood up immediately.
"She's okay?" She nodded her head and I release a breath that I didn't realise I was holding. Relief flooded through me and I felt myself getting emotional.
"She has three broken ribs, a broken arm and is going to be unconscious for several hours, but she's alive."
"Can I see her?" I asked.
"I'm sorry only relatives can see her at this time."
"What? Your kidding? None of her family is here, we came on a trip." The nurse hesitated.
"Please." I begged. After a moment she nodded her head, sighing.
"But if anyone asks, you're her brother." I exhaled.
"Thank you." I looked her in the eye. "So much." She gave a nod in recognition. I sprinted down the halls.
"Where is she?" I asked the nurses who were standing in her room. "I need to see her!" I announced desperately. The nurses scattered, showing the bed. I moved closer to see an unconscious Hermione laying on the bed. A whimper drew from my lips. She looked so at peace, so angelic... so dead. I put my hand on hers as the nurses departed.
"Wait." I said stopping the last nurse. She tuned to me with an expression that made my stomach turn.
"She will be unconscious for a few days." She told me. "We hope." The nurse added.
"If it goes well, that will be the best case scenario." She goes to walk out but then turns back to me.
"I'm sorry." Before walking out the room.
I looked down at my princess again and couldn't help the tears that welled up in my eyes. This was all my fault.
"Hey baby, you have to wake up now." I told her, brushing her hair from her face and behind her ear.

"Ron." A voice woke me and light flooded my vision as I opened my eyes. Harry is standing there, looking down at me.
"It's 1am, we're going back to the hotel to sleep." He admitted, a guilty time to his sentence. I nodded.
"Okay." I looked down at my angel and once again my stomach flipped. Harry hesitated before saying; "you should come back too. You know, to get some sleep." I shook my head immediately.
"No Harry." I looked down at her again. "I'm not leaving her." Again I stopped myself from saying. Harry sighed then nodded his head.
"Okay, well is there anything I can get you?" He offered but I shook my head. Uttering no more words, Harry left the room.
"Please baby, just wake up." I whispered. A second later Ginny came in carrying a box of croissants. She handed me them.
"Here." I took them off her and immediately placed them on the counter, not giving them a second look. Ginny sighed.
"You have to eat Ron." I just shook my head, repudiating to look at her.
"You have got to stop blaming yourself for this, you saved a woman's life." I turned to her sharply.
"But I lost the person that I love's life." Ginny shook her head.
"She was breathing when you left her."
"Stop making excuses for me Ginny!" I exclaimed then lowered my voice. "I left her." I sat back into my chair again and crossed my arms, signalling to her that our previous conversation was over. She sighed before walking out the room.

Okay well I'm ending the chapter here, as you can tell from the lack of updates recently that i had no motivation to write this chapter whatsoever. I'm going to camp tomorrow so I'm going to have no wifi until Friday although I think I'm kind of going to enjoy it, I think I will get quite a bit of reading done. Also, I've started writing my revision notes for September where I'll be going to a new school and taking all of these new classes and I'm sooo excited, I just want to start. I'm getting my exam results back in three weeks and I'm sooo nervous.
