Chapter 52

We rode in the car in still silence. I glanced  to the right at Toni. She was wrapped in a blanket with her head facing towards the window. She hasn't said anything since we left the hospital. She told me she didn't need to go but I made her just to be sure their wasn't anything going on internally. The doctor said she was fine and let us go. I pulled up to my house and hurried to help her out of the car. I was so nervous when I closed the door behind her I accidentally closed her blanket in the door. "I'm sorry. Here let me get that" I said taking it out the door. "You can lay in my bed if you want." She stayed silent and began walking up the stairs. I ran after her and led her to my room. "Sorry let me get that" I grabbed all of my stuff off of the bed and threw it in the closet. "Ok here you go" She plopped down on the pillow and I covered her with my cover. "Do you wanna watch tv or..." She remained silent. "Ok I'll just leave it next to you if you...yea" I quietly closed the door and went to the guest bedroom.

Damn I can't fucking believe this. That nigga deserves to fucking die. He put his hands on a female. That's the lowest level a man could ever stoop. I feel so bad for Toni.

She hasn't left the room since last night and it's the afternoon now. I think I should go check on her. I knocked and waited. She didn't say anything. I then opened the door slowly and told her I was coming in. I walked in and seen the bathroom door was open. I peeked in and seen it. There she was with a blade in her right hand and blood on her left wrist. I immediately hit the blade out of her hand and put a bandage on her wrist. I looked at her face and she looked like she didn't even know what was going on. She was just staring out in space, not a single tear. I picked her up and laid her back on the bed. I put her in my lap and laid her head on my chest and whispered "It's ok...I got you" over and over. I couldn't help but to shed a few tears. I couldn't stand seeing her like this. I kissed her forehead and wiped my tears. I reached to the left of me and grabbed my phone and I called the only four people that I can think of that can make Toni feel better.

"Can you guys come over right away. It's an emergency." I hung up.

"After what happened last night. I came to the room this morning to check on her and I found her in the bathroom cutting her wrist with a blade.I-I just don't know what to do" I told them. "Oh my god" Towanda said in awe. "No...no this can't be happening" Trina said crying. "I need to go see her" Tamar said running to the room.

We all rushed into the room where Toni lay in the bed with her eyes open. We all stood at the doorway for a while not knowing what to do. Tamar walked in the bathroom and immediately broke down at the sight of blood in the sink.

"Oh my god" She weeped and collapsed on the floor. "Toni?" Trina said walking towards her. Toni lay there not saying anything. She wasn't even looking at us. "Toni I'm so sorry this happened to you" Umba expressed to her. "She probably won't say anything. She hasn't spoken since last night" I told them. "Tamar just try to talk to her" Traci told her. "I-I c-can't" She stuttered. "Please do it for her" Trina said. Tamar got up and went to Toni's side of the bed and looked into her eyes as well as she could because Toni was looking up. She caressed her hair and kept crying. "T-Toni...you don't deserve th-this. You are the m-most kindest, passionate and loving person I know" She took a deep breathe. "It's really fucked up that this is happening to you. I love you so much." She hugged her tight and sobbed. Toni didn't move a muscle.
"You guys are welcome to stay if you want. I have plenty of room.

"Should we tell mommy?" Trina asked. "I don't think that's a good idea" Umba said. "Yea you know how mommy gets. She would lose it." Tamar told her. "Yea you're right" They agreed.
"Why don't we just take her to see someone about it that can help her." "Yea that's a good idea...but who?" "I have just the person...T.D. Jakes" Tamar announced.

"Face we're going to head home but please if you can do anything to get her out of bed then please do it." They told me. "It's the only way we could get her to see T.D. Jakes" "I will try" I told them hugging them and closing the door.

I headed back to the room with Toni. At least she's eating something. I saw her eating a sandwich. "I'm glad you're eating" I said to her. I laid next to her, wrapped my arms around her and kissed her shoulders. "Toni, I love you and I'm sorry I ever let you walk out of my life." I told her. I heard her sniffing and when I looked up I saw tears coming from her eyes. This was the first time she expressed any emotion since the incident. I held her even tighter and continued kissing her back and shoulders until she fell asleep.
