Chapter 43

"Can you pass the salt?" I asked while sitting on the couch, eating and watching tv.
"Sure daddy" Pey said passing it to me and going into her room.
"TONI THE SHOW IS ABOUT TO START" I shouted to her while turning the volume up. She immediately came running to where I was holding her plate of food and drink in her hands.
"You just made a trail of juice on your way here" I said looking at the juice covered floor behind her.
"Whatever, um Ken would you like to move in?" She asked.
"Uh...um yea...sure just let me think about it."
"No...Ken I mean move in on the couch so I can sit down"
"Oh right...that's what I meant too" I awkwardly said while scooting over.
"I mean...now that you mention it, would you like to move in?"
I felt my heart fall into my stomach and what seemed like explode. I've dreading this question since I asked her out. Don't get me wrong, I love Toni and of course I look forward to starting a life with her, it's just that I don't know if I'm actually ready to take such a huge step. There she was staring at me waiting for my response and here I was not knowing what to say. "Uhhhhhhh...ummm...I'm good"
"YOU'RE GOOD?!?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" She yelled at me with a sense of disbelief and disgust in her voice. "Wait no, I can explain" I said trying to take my words back. "YOU BETTER SAY SOMETHING" She raged. "Welllll...um...I just don't...uh" was all I managed to utter.
"So what you're telling me is you're dating me but don't see this relationship going anywhere anytime soon."
"What no...I never said that" He denied. "Yea you did, by you not wanting to move with me tells me that you don't want to get serious with me and if you don't want to get serious then this relationship isn't going anywhere and if it's not going anywhere then we're just dating for no apparent reason at all, which is not an option." She ranted like a raging bull. "Listen all I want to do is eat and watch a little tv...we can talk about this later." I said while turning back towards the tv. "Fine then I should go back to MY house all by MYSELF and be alone because that's how I'm going to end up anyway" She said getting up, gathering her things and walking out of the door. "Oooooh daaaaaddyyyy...you're in trouble" Peyton said while laughing and running back into her room. " Haha...BEDTIME"
"Noooo...five more minutes please"
