Part 18, Josh's POV:
The scream panicked me but took her orders, I called 911 immediately and went to see what happened.
Thalia ran outside barraging through the precarious scene and went toward someone I've grown very close to. Alexander. Oh why? I run after her to see who we can keep safe. I help pull Alex with Thalia already cutting through the seatbelt. I yank him out and yell at Thalia to get wet towels and help the other person in the other car. I safely get them out and they're awake. The guy sits on the sidewalk and waits for the ambulance and all we see is that he might've broke an arm but is still drunk and complaining worse than someone sober.
Thalia throws me a towel and I give it to the guy. I run over to Alex who isn't waking up and in Thalia's arms. His face is swollen, hands are gashed with blood, and he's covered with bruises. I hear the ambulance but I hear the cries of Thalia and everything looks like a blur. They take him onto the stretcher and I hold Thalia back so they can take him to the hospital. I put her in the car and we drive right behind the ambulance.
We race behind them, praying that he'll be ok.
What am I gonna do without his advice? I think how this is gonna affect us. He's close with Thalia but they're best friends, what's gonna happen if she loses him too?
I cut these thoughts when I park and run out with Thalia behind me.
"Alexander! Alex! Alex, please wake up!" She burst into tears as they took him into the operation room and I had to hold her back.
Thalia's POV:
I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. I collect myself and grab the hospital's phone and call Jen to let her know and to bring everyone here immediately, leaving her clueless and worried.
I glance to Josh and he has his face in hands, silently crying.
I walk over and hold him in his arms. I can't cry anymore because I've finished my tears. I see the door burst open and I see everyone there.
Jen, Amandla, Isabelle, Liam, Woody, Elizabeth, and the rest on the way.
After an hour of anticipation and catching up on the story, I found out why he came over. He came over because he felt guilty, he was going back home.
"Thalia, can I talk to you?" Liam asked. I look at Josh and let go of his hand which might get blood back in.
"Hi. I'm sorry we have to meet like this."
"No worries," He smiles and I try to return it but I can't when my best friend is on the operating table.
"Do you know why he came over?"
"All I know is that he wanted to talk to me, why?"
"He talked to me a few times about you and he wanted to tell you about him moving back home, he's taking a break for a year."
"What? Why?"
"He got tired of Hollywood, I guess."
"You know more, I know you do Liam."
"He's overloaded. He won't shut up about you."
"The doors open and the doctor says we can se him.
"Is he awake?" I ask the doctor.
"Yes, one at a time please."
"You go first, Thalia. You have some business to intend to." Liam suggested.
I kiss Josh one last time and walk in slowly.
"Hey..." I whisper so innocently.
"Hey, how are you?"
"Are you seriously asking me this when you're the one in a hospital bed. How are you?"
"I'm... in pain."
"What happened?"
"I saw a car coming my way down the street, swerving. And it hit me."
"What was so damn important for you to speed up a freaking hill? That's fucking stupid. At night. When these drunk assholes drive."
"It was you. I came to say that I'm taking a break from Hollywood, but I wanted to tell you and Josh face to face as I told the others."
"I'm sorry I've been pushing you away. I can't love you more than a best friend. This is my fault."
"It's not Thalia." His voice raised with anger and I slid down in the seat, cupping my face.
"You know, it's too soon to tell what could happen. You can always find the girl back home who knows you better than anyone else."
"I'll be thanking you someday."
"I'll have you know, you're the special pea in the pod." I smile and he giggles in return.
"I'm glad you're still my best friend. Are you?"
"Yeah I am. Come here." He opens his arms and I see a scar under his right arm and wince at the gashing length.
I hold him in my arms for as long as I can hide the tears falling.
"I love you, Thalia. You're an amazing friend."
"I love you too." I peck his cheek and leave him for the others to see him.
I walk up to Josh and he's half asleep so he agreed to go home and we say our goodbyes since his parents are the only ones allowed to stay.
We say goodnight and drift to our dreams and wishes, in each other's arms.
The next morning I see Josh and Levin talking, no, not talking, whispering so nobody can hear them. Well, well, well I can hear you all jibbering with my name in your mouths.
"...We can't tell her. Not yet." Levin whispered.
"Why not?"
"Shut up, Josh. None of us are ready."
Should I walk out? Or act like I woke up? Ugh, I don't like this.
"Whatever, Levin. Go. She'll be waking up soon."
"Fine. I'm only trying to help." And with that the door slammed and I walk out as if I just woke up.
"Hey babe. What was that slam?"
"Must've been the back door." He seemed nervous and walked out of the room.
I kept it in mind and texted Liam about this.
"Liam! Do you know anything about Levin & Josh?" I sent the message and waited forever, well it seemed like it.
"They are filming a movie soon together. They're the main characters and it's like a love, dangerous thing."
"Thanks. Do you know when they'll start?"
"Nope, sorry."
"Thanks anyway."
He didn't reply and I got what I needed and let the situation fall. It's a movie, I think. Nothing can happen between those two. They wouldn't, would they?
