Part 33, Josh's POV:
Laying in bed at 2 AM can really struck your mind up when you're pregnant wife's belly is poking you at the side. Thalia is now 8 1/2 months pregnant. We decided to keep the gender of the baby a surprise. She keeps looking weaker and weaker but she always uses the same excuse that's she's 'fine'. The wedding was beautiful. The first dance made me tear up because I feel like something's wrong with her. I don't want to risk losing her.
Not to mention, it's March 13. I turned 20 and Thalia is turning 20 next week. The birthday party was simple. Stayed at home, had a couple friends and family over, and cuddled with my wife. Perfect birthday to me.
As my train of thought crashes, the bed begins to fill with water.
"Josh," Thalia whispers.
"Yeah?"
"I think my water broke." She says hopelessly. "I didn't pee on myself this time, I swear." She giggles. Even at important times she can still make a joke.
"What! Ok, let's get up and go to the hospital." I say as calmly as I can.
I pull her off the bed and run into the closet for the pregnancy bag her mom packed us, thank God.
She's surprisingly calm all the way to the hospital, she even called them to let them know we're coming and her family too. They soon make it 30 minutes after us and Jennifer, Amandla, Alexander, Isabelle, and Jacqueline get here.
A few hours passed and she's dilated 5 inches. Me and her parents are in the room, her mom has her right hand, her dad has the video camera and I'm holding her left hand rubbing her forehead telling her it's going to be okay.
The sun rises and by 6:17 AM a beautiful boy is born.
"Her heart has stopped!" The nurse screams at the doctor.
"What?" I ask, looking at the doctor.
"I knew this was gonna happen," He whispers under his breath. He looks me in the eye with sorrow and pushes me out of the door.
"What the hell!" I punch the wall in frustration and finally get the picture she's been painting in front of me all along.
The weak figure, thinning hair, strained voice, something pregnancy shouldn't do.
The clock ticks and tocks. The waiting room is filled with family and friends in pajamas, waiting impatiently, hoping and praying she'll be ok. Connor and her two brothers, James and Harry, wondering what will happen. Trying to keep good thoughts. Harry has a bracelet similar to Thalia's. He fiddles with it, fear in his eyes and a mind set on something I do not know. James is rubbing his wrist with his thumb as Thalia would do to only him. Connor is sitting scared out of his mind, holding a necklace Thalia bought for him from Australia.
I glance at the faces around me, and close my eyes tight wishing this nightmare would end.
5 Years Later,
I open the door for Thalia to come out of the car. She stares at the house in awe though we've been here for five years now. I get Ryan out of his booster seat and unlock Aaron and Hailey. They all race out the car back into the house. Thalia is in the same spot, looking refreshed and holding tightly to our new baby boy, Jonah.
"Welcome home, baby." I tell Thalia.
"I am home whenever I'm with you." She kisses me in the same standing spot when we first got this house.
"I am home." I whisper to myself as I see my beautiful, healthy wife and 4 children walk through the doors.
Life is worth the wait when you finally get what you've always wanted. I got what I wanted and the only I ever wanted was love, and I got Thalia. She is the best thing that's ever been mine and I wouldn't change a thing.
