(These are only in separate parts because I don't want the chapters to be too long to please don't kill me!)
It had been a few months since you had last seen Dagur. In that time you had nearly gotten killed by a dragon called the 'Snow wraith' when searching for one of its teeth to open the dragon eye, convinced your father to let you journey past the fog banks that surrounded your part of the archipelago, and found a new island where you were able to build your own hut so you wouldn't always have to travel back to Berk. It was called 'Dragon's Edge'.
Now, you were sat on a chest in Hiccup's hut, studying the dragon's eye with him. "So now Monstrous Nightmare gem...plus Nightfury equals...NOTHING!" Hiccup groaned as you leaned back, watching the door open "Astrid class!" You chuckled. "Guys, we have a problem, a huge problem!" You shot up from where you were leaning. "Dagur?!" You asked quickly, "Worse!" "What can possibly be worse than Dagur!?" Hiccup asked before a dragon crash landed into the doorway. "Gustav!!" "Gustav!" "Gustav?!" "Gustav..." You four said as the boy looked up from his crashed position on Fanghook. You watched as Hiccup quickly put the dragon eye behind him and passed it to you. You then just as quickly put it in the gap between the chest and the wall, just out of sight. Fanghook started annoying Toothless and Abscon whilst Gustav clambered onto the chest and stood next to you, making you lean back even further to cover it up.
"Hiccup!! Did you know that Gustav-" Snotlout, Fishleg, Ruffnut and Tuffnut ran in and noticed the 16 year old viking stood next to you. "Is standing right next to you...perfect.." "Looking a little different there Guster!" "Yeah, I'm growing a beard!" He said, pride dripping from every word. "Ha!! Even Ruffnut's got more hair on her chin than that!" Tuffnut laughed, plucking the small hair off Gustav. "Ow!!" He cried, jumping back and holding his chin in pain. He crashed into the chest, his head hitting the wall next to where the dragon eye was hidden. "ooh what's this thing?" He asked, grabbing it and looking through the end of it that shone light. "Woah! What is this?? Some sort of sun sword!?" "No Gustav! It's not a sun sword!" You snatched it off him and handed it to Fishlegs. "It's the Dragon eye and it's very ancient and very fragile!" Gustav wandered dazed towards Toothless' tail fin attachments, knocking one off the wall. "It's not something to just be touched!" "Relax Fishlegs! I know what I'm doing!" He said before walking into the wall once again and this time knocking all of the attachments off the wall. "When are you leaving?" Snotlout asked him, holding his head and stopping him from causing any more chaos. "That's funny Snotlout! But I'm not leaving, I'm moving here!" Everyone gasped in horror before Tuffnut began laughing.
"Yeah that's a good one! Imagine--wait...He's serious...? I'll go get the stake and firewood.." the twins started walking out before Hiccup stopped them. "No one's burning anyone at the stake!" "You're right....LETS THROW HIM OFF THE CLIFF!!" "Ruffnut calm down!" "I'm sure there's a simple explanation to why he's here! Please tell me there's a simple explanation..Gustav..?" Hiccup turned back to Gustav, who was rubbing his eyes. "Oh yeah! Also, do NOT look into that sun sword thingy! Haha, WOO!!" He finished rubbing his eyes. All you had to say about this whole ordeal was "If he isn't dead in the first week I'll save the world the struggle and kill him myself."
"Gustav, we're doing stealth and sneak training. So that means you have to stay quiet, obviously. Got it?" You told the young boy, who was staring at you. "Gustav?" You asked, poking him. "GUSTAV" You screamed, scaring him out of his daze. "Yeah Babe?" "Don't tempt me to send you to Valhalla earlier than I have to..Anyway, do you understand what we're doing?" You asked. "Yeah! Yeah I understand!" You rolled your eyes and walked away with Abscon, motioning him to follow you. Within 5 minutes of the training he had already set half of the trees around you on fire and somehow set a small lake on fire as well. "OK! I'm done, come with me!" He growled, dragging him by the collar of his jacket. "FISHLEGS!!" You shouted as you walked towards his hut. "what is it? Are you ok (y/n)- oh." You nodded. "Are you ok to try and teach him to be quiet and maybe not destroy everything in his path?" You asked, rubbing your temple. "All this is giving me a head ache.." You groaned. "Oh sure, don't worry, you go get some rest, I'll take care of Gustav!" You smiled gratefully at Fishlegs as he smiled at you, taking Gustav and Fanghook off to his hut. "Thanks a lot Fishlegs.."
You sighed as you lay on your bed in the dark in your hut, Abscon next to your bed. "Gustav wont last a day out here Abscon! He'd be no match for Dagur or anyone else like that! He can't stay out here!" You said, sitting up. "Welp, let's go see how they're handling Gustav without us!" You said in fake enthusiasm, making Abscon chuckle. Once out you saw Hiccup flying back from somewhere with Gustav "Hey! Where've you two been?" You called. Hiccup simply gave you the look you had learned to take as the 'Hiccup is close to a melt down' look. "Oh Thor.." You muttered, walking towards the clubhouse.
"Of all the irresponsible, insubordinate-" "Don't forgot idiotic, imbecilic, inane!" You stared at Tuffnut questioningly. "When..?" "Oh come on, I know a lot of word that mean stupid! I mean people say that more than me actual name!" ..... "He's not wrong.." You muttered making Astrid snicker. "Of all those kinds of stunts you could have pulled! This was the worst! DO you have ANY idea what Dagur would DO to get his hands on the DRAGON EYE?!" Hiccup asked Gustav hysterically. "I just thought...if I came back here with the treasure you guys would accept me.." 'That's kind of like Hiccup ..except Hiccup actually found something and Gustav nearly died..'"We've already been there! There is no treasure! And the entire island is honeycombed with the most unstable caverns we've ever encountered!" "I'm sorry..I just wanted.." "You could've been killed Gustav! Fanghook could've been killed! The rules are different out here! You have to be smarter than this.." Hiccup sighed. "I just wanted to prove myself.." "Oh you have! You've proven that you're not responsible enough, you're not mature enough, and you're not thoughtful enough to be one of us. Now It's...it's been a long day, we'll talk about this in the morning.." Hiccup sighed, walking out.
You followed him. "You ok?" "Do I look ok? Has anything I just said, given you the impression that I'm-" You smacked the back of his head. "I get it, you're not ok. But think about him in all this. All he wants is to prove himself, like a certain someone I call my brother." You told him. "Yeah, but I still had enough maturity to realize when I was going too far!" You raised your eyebrow at him, "Too far meaning..?" "Y-You know what I mean! but I just...You don't understand what it means to prove yourself..to want to.." He sighed. "You've always been the stronger one of us..you're more athletic, stronger, respected, and you were betrothed to Dagur! How could you have wanted to prove yourself when you had everything I...I didn't..." You hugged him tightly. "You'd be surprised.."
The next morning, Gustav was gone. You made your way down to the stables where everyone else was. "What's going on guys? Where's Gustav?" "We don't know...If only I'd tried to listen to him and maybe get him doing something active so he wouldn't have done anything too extreme.." Hiccup groaned, "Shouldn't we be celebrating the fact that he's gone?" Snotlout asked as you stood next to Ruffnut and Tuffnut. "Not till we know He's safe!" Hiccup pointed out. "And how are we gonna do that?" "Ask Fanghook.." Ruffnut stated. "How do you suppose we do that?" Snotlout retorted "Turn around!" You told him, looking up to see the distressed Dragon flying into the area. "Hey, Hey Fanghook!" You cooed at the dragon after pushing Tuffnut away from trying to get answers out of him but 'failing'. "There's a letter attached to his horn.." Hiccup mumbled, you took the letter and read it. "It's from Dagur. He wants to make a trade...Gustav..for me and the Dragon eye.." You told everyone.
