Chapter 9-The Skrill returns.

A few days after Stoick and Gobber had left, you were planning on going with Hiccup and Fishlegs to try and find you a new dragon. You weren't exactly all for the idea, but because you had finally accepted that Abscon wasn't going to come back, you thought it would be the best course of action. Especially considering the, pardon my language, absolute s**t storm of events that were about to unfold in the next few months. Just before you left however, Hiccup received a terror mail. "Its from Berk.." He mumbled as you leaned against him, reading the letter. "So there's been another attack?" You sighed a little, walking with Hiccup to Toothless. "Seems so, come on. We'd better check it out..Are you ok moving the day when we find you another dragon to later on?" He asked you, you wrapped your arms around him and hugged him tightly "Yeah, its fine." He smiled and patted your head before taking off. 

As you and Hiccup flew towards Berk you looked over his shoulder and gasped "The Skrill?!" You exclaimed as you got closer. "The auxiliary team are already on the case!" "And are already getting electrocuted.." You muttered, Hiccup however was partially glad and partially annoyed to see that you had finally got some of your sarcastic attitude back. "Yeah I think it's a little early on in their careers to be..uh.." Hiccup trailed off when seeing them still being electrocuted, "Getting shocked..." He muttered making you giggle a little. After Snotlout racing after his dad, Toothless shot off towards the Skrill, who glared at him in rage. "Toothless.." Hiccup muttered before Toothless started on towards the dragon. "Toothless stop!!" You shouted, looking at the Skrill in panic. Toothless suddenly and unexpectedly did as you asked. The Skrill staring at you for a moment. You thought you saw its pupils dilate a little before going back to their usual slits and taking off, lightning crackling among its wings as you were suddenly shot off the back of Toothless and were soaring through the air. Hiccup screamed your name before you landed in your father's lap on Skullcrusher. "Room for one more?" You asked him, making him chuckle and ruffle your hair before Hiccup landed behind him, "Two more then?" You said, laughing at how shaken he looked. When you landed he sky rocketed off Skullcrusher to Toothless. A small pang of envy and sadness rushed through you as you watched Hiccup hug Toothless. Stoick patted your back when he noticed this, earning a small smile from you. "Interesting strategy, going nose to nose with the Skrill?" Your father asked Hiccup, a little amused at the situation. "It wasn't my strategy!" Hiccup said, rubbing Toothless' head, "Also, what happened up there (y/n)?" He asked, "What do you mean?" You asked him, looking confused. "I mean about you telling Toothless to stop, and the Skrill staring at you?" You tensed up a little, "It looked like it knew you?" "Well we did fight it those years ago-" "No I don't mean that! I mean it looked like it trusted you!" You stood there for a minute, staring at the floor in thought, then looking at Hiccup, who got the idea as did your father. "No." "I haven't even said anything!" "Even so, I know what you were about to say, and no. You can't train the Skrill (y/n)." You sighed "Why not?!" "Because its too dangerous and too good of an excuse for Dagur and the Dragon Hunters to wage war on us even more!" You groaned "It could be a great weapon to use against them!" "And if they capture you and it?" "I'll just have to not get captured!" you turned to the others frustratedly. Snotlout had his dad with him, who started spouting nonsense like Snotlout had done 3 years ago. You subconsciously started laughing at this, going to lean on Abscon, only to notice he wasn't there. You leaned on Hiccup instead. "It looks like all of the huts are alright.." Fishlegs said, inspecting the houses in the vicinity. Astrid pointed to a house further up a hill "Except that one." "MY HOUSE!!" Stoick exclaimed "Why would it only attack our house..?" You asked, suddenly coming to the realization and looking at Hiccup "Its looking for you.." "That would explain it!" You put your hand to your mouth as everyone began piecing together what was going on. 

"(y/n), we're leaving you back at the edge, I'm not risking you getting hurt or worse by the Skrill or Dragon Hunters." Hiccup stated firmly as you landed at Dragon's Edge. "Hiccup you know this is ridiculous! You said that I should train and bond with a new dragon! This is a time to test it out!" "(y/n) it's too dangerous! We'll find you another, less insane, dragon after we've sorted this out with the Skrill." You sighed as Hiccup took off with the others. "Why does this always happen to me? WHY AM I SO DAMN PASSIVE AND EASY TO KIDNAP?!" You shouted at yourself, kicking the side of the clubhouse. "I miss Abscon.." 

Several hours later, you were lying across one of the tables in the clubhouse when you heard several large pounds on the floor, making you fall off said table. "Guys? Where's Hiccup?" You asked, rushing towards them, "He's taking care of the Skrill..I think He knows what he's doing.." Fishlegs explained, looking a little nervous. "For goodness sake! He should've let me go with you! When me and him were on Toothless with the Skrill earlier..it looked at me! It looked at me like it knew me for a second! If he'd just let me go with him I could've tried to train it!" You growled angrily, not noticing the shocked faces around you. "What?!" Astrid screamed "You can't train that thing!! It'll fry you alive!!" She said, gripping your shoulders and shaking you. "I don't know, it sounds pretty cool!" "Yeah, a Nightfury and a Skrill! You'd be unstoppable!!" The twins gushed around you. "No! No one is training a Skrill!! Besides you know it hates Toothless!" "Just because we had to shut it away so it was safe from Dagur!" You explained, "try telling that to the Skrill!" Snotlout scoffed, "I will!" You scoffed back. "You can't be serious (Y/n)! It'll kill you! It can smell Hiccup on you! You're siblings! It'll hate you!" "Even more reason to show it why it doesn't need to." You told them. They were surprised at this. After almost months of grieving. It almost seemed like the old (y/n) was back. Or was this a new one..?
