Chapter 9

The next day Allison, Lydia and I marched out to the woods. Allison and I had our bows with the arrow heads she found. I managed to swipe one from the garage when my dad wasn't looking.

"Allison, Emily when you said you wanted to stop for an errand before we went shopping, five mile hike in the woods was not what I was expecting." Lydia panted out as Allison and I marched out with our bows strapped us.

I rolled my eyes. "You can do it Lydia."

"Lydia before I forget, I wanted to ask if you're okay with something. Jackson asked me to the winter formal." Allison cuts in and I see the smile appear on her face.

My jaw drops. Really Allison you couldn't have done better than king of the tools?

"Did he?" Lydia asks trying to mask the hurt.

"Yeah. Just as friends. But I wanted to make sure you're okay with that first." Allison replies the smirk still on her face.

"Sure. As longs as it's just friends." Lydia replies.

"Well, yeah, I mean... It's not like I would take him to coach's office during lacrosse practice to make out with him or anything." Allison points out a glare going across her face.

Lydia freezes. "Uh.. About that.

Oh yeah Lydia was making out with Scott on the full moon. Scott has a reason he couldn't help himself but Lydia had full control over herself.

We keep walking until we come to a stop where a few trees are near.

I unzip my case as does Allison, I pull out my bow and put the arrow head on to the arrow.

Allison does the same with hers.

Yeah me and Allison were nationally ranked as kids, we used to compete and were some of the best shooters out there and ironically I was really into track and other stuff like that. So yeah I was a built for the whole Argent hunting thing, but I will never do it. I will never hunt a werewolf.

"What does that do?" Lydia asks while we put our bows together.

"That's what we're about to find out." I reply.

I pull my beanie off and then I tie my hair into a pony tail. I get into my stance, I load my arrow into the bow then aim my arrow at a tree. I pull my arrow back to my cheek take aim and breath out and let it fly. It lands right in the center of the tree trunk. The arrow made a flash of light.

This is exactly what Dad was shooting at Derek it blinded him, just like what was shot at me and Derek the night of the first full moon, the night of the party.

"What the hell was that?" Lydia inquires.

"I don't know." I answer absentmindedly.

"Allison shoot, lets see if we get the same result." I say.

Allison does as I say and she gets the same effect.

"Well, that was fun any other lethal weapons you wanna try out?" Lydia asks with slight sarcasm.

I turn my head to say something to Allison when I hear a twig snap and then I hear it again.

Allison hears it to. I shoot a look at Lydia. "Stay here."

Allison and I share a look, she nods her head in one direction, while I choose the other, I pick up another arrow and load it into my bow then I walk in the other.

I put my bow at the ready to fire and I walk and I shoot at something moving. The arrow whizzes straight at Derek's head.

He catches it with ease. I drop my bow like it was poisonous to the touch. "Oh my God, Derek. I'm so sorry." I say rapidly, already scolding myself for being nice to him.
