Waiting (Elrond)

The lord of Rivendell waited anxiously for his dearest friend to return from her latest trip when he heard the sound of running feet.
"Lord Elrond! It's Y/N." Lindir, one of Elrond's closest friends said as he panted.
"What about her? What's happened?" He asked quickly, standing up from his chair in his study.
"She's been attacked.. she's in the healing wing as we speak. I warn you now Lord Elrond.. it does not look good." The brown haired elf said to his friend. The usually cool lord of Rivendell paled at the mention of his lover not lasting through the night. Elrond made his way through the mess of his study, and towards the door before bolting towards the healing wing. He could not lose her.

Elrond worked tirelessly through the night healing Y/N and praying that she would wake. It seemed that his prayers were about to be answered when Y/N moved her head to the side and cracked open her eyes to see Elrond sitting with his head in his hands.
"Friend, why do you cry so?" She asked gently, making Elrond's head snap up to meet her E/C eyes.
"I thought I lost you and I could not bare it." He told her honestly. Y/N's eyes filled with tears at his words, having already known that he cared deeply for her. Y/N reached for  Elrond's hand and squeezed it softly with a smile.
"You know I care for you Elrond." She said, making the said elf nod.
"Then you know how my feelings have become more than just friendship." It was honesty that she prided herself for, and it was honesty that he got.
"I believe you have made me the happiest and luckiest elf in all of Middle Earth Y/N." Elrond told her, kissing her knuckles with a gentle laugh. Y/N smiled, after years of traveling and waiting, she was finally home. A place she would stay for many more years.
