Chapter 8: the bomb in us all

Going off of what I remember, I was getting dressed while dreading the upcoming event called 'school'.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Hopes Peak, and the people there were amazing..but it had its downsides.

Reserve course students running around like they owned the place, crazy people trying to prove their "talents", and the security there, ugh let's not even start with that.
But other than that, Hopes Peak High was an amazing place to make new friends, explore your talent more, and make you feel worthy of yourself. At least, that was my opinion.

Below the high and mighty school with all their hard work and accomplishments were deep dark secrets that fucked up everything if you got a hold of them.

But I'm getting too far ahead.

"Okay have the handouts made it all the way to the back? It's very important everyone has one, this is the schedule for the practical exams they start tomorrow so whatever you need to get ready be on it!" Yukizome sensei was as preppy as ever, and frankly I wasn't feeling it. I've never been in an exam before, but I have heard that they are hell. Little did I know, I was going in more than I bargained for.
There were grunts an sighs from the class, my Chisa continued.
"As you all know we don't do final exams by term here at Hopes Peak. The school hold targeted practical exams once a year. Oh! I almost forgot! Chi, have you ever been through an exam before?"
All eyes turned towards me. Grrreeeaaattt.
"Never mrs. Yukizome."
"Ha! Dude you're sooo lucky! I'd kill to have it that way!" Ibuki was hyper, as always. After that whole incident on the weekend, she just wanted to forget all about it-as if it never happened.
Mrs. Yukizome had cut our conversation but saying "oh don't worry Hun you'll do fine. The exams aren't that hard, you just have to show off your talent and you're good. Peice of cake!"
I fired back "yeah maybe if that cake was made out of concrete. Mrs. Yukizome I'm an assassin, how the hell am I suppose to show off my skills?"
Everyone thought hard for a minute before Gundham had proceeded to say "my dark Empress, there shall be no fear, for you can use your deadliest weapon-yOUR POWERS!"
Kaz grunted. "Yeah right after she kills everyone in sight and flights out to Chicago to join the circus."
Mrs. Yukizome cleared her throat. Everyone turned back to her. "Well we can worry about that later, right now I have to continue. As I was saying: now keep in mind, if your results are below average you might now be able to stay. Having said that, I'm sure you'll be amazing. Put those talents on display! Show us teachers what kind of awesomeness our students are capable of! You know, just do your best!"

The whole room went dead silent. You could practically feel the tension and utter disappointment in all the classroom and students. Mrs. Yukizome frowned at this and Chiaki frowned back.
I had looked towards Nagito like a lost puppy, but when I saw him I thought other intentions. He looked stone cold, almost pissed. I tilted my head slightly towards him. He just kept looking at the paper like it was telling him his future and death day. Almost like a death note or something. (That reference though XD)

We had all went out for lunch, and me being the loner that I was followed Nagito like usual. It became our routine to just walk around at lunch and follow each other. But today, he told me that he had business to attend to.
"I'll only be a few minutes, so I'll catch up with you soon. " I had a bad feeling this was about the whole exam thing, since he talked non stop about it after the bell had rung for lunch.
"Yeah, sounds good. I'm gonna go chill with Kaz and watch him horribly attempt to seduce Sonia. "
"Okay, be safe!"
Welp, that's not a weird thing to say at alll~
I just looked at Nagito as he gave me the same closed eyes smile that he always does. I smiled back. A genuine smile this time.
"Heh, you too Nagito.."
And he was off. Where to? At the time I didn't know. But, then again this was Nagito we're talking about.
