Chapter 15: sadistically yet sympathetically me

Walking up to the podium where I was going to guard, I felt all eyes on me. I just kept walking to my spot, but the staring wouldn't go. I turned to face everyone and nodded my head as a pass to get this thing started.
People downstairs started hooking up Hajime to the machine, but Hajime wasn't even paying attention. He looked up at me with intense eyes. His face just screamed 'what have I done.'

Before booking him up was complete, he yelled "STOP".
Everyone turned to look at him. Some were angry, some were confused.
"C-can I go to the bathroom..?"

'Wow whatta save Hinata.'
The man agreed for him to go, and once unhooked, Hajime gave me a face that blatantly said 'meet me outside'.

'Fuck what's his deal this time?'

I pretended to search for something. I patted down my clothes and checking in my leg garter to cause suspicion.
"You good Chi?What are you looking for. "

"Oh I guess I left my backup knife in the car. I'll be back in a second boss. "
I quickly paced myself out of the door and into the hallway. Hajime was waiting by the end of the hall.

While walking up to him, I whispered loudly (can you even call it that? Idk whatever you get it) "Hinata what the fuck dude. You have to do this, you told them you would!"

"I'm having second thoughts Chi. What if I forget everybody? What if I'm not what I want to be? What if Chiaki doesn't forgive me? So many things can go wrong!"

I sighed in defeat.
"Seriously, you couldn't have thought these things before you AGREED TO THE SURGERY?"

"I'm sorry okay? I just want to be happy. I don't wanna live my life in the shadows, but maybe living in the shadows are a good thing.."

I rolled my eyes at his words.
"Don't go all Tumblr on me okay? Trust me, if this is what you want then do it. If you don't wanna do it then tell them. Yeah they'll be pissed but it's your life on the line. I'm not here to babysit, I'm here to do my job and go."
Laying down the truth was harder for Hajime to hear then for me to say. He just looked grumpy now.
"Yeah I guess you're right.."

A call down the hall sent me and Hajime to hide behind a corner.
"Agent 037? Ugh where is the brat? Well I'm not going outside I still gotta look for Izuru. I hate my fucking job."
The murmurs slowly died down as the person entered another room. Hajime and I both let out an exhale of breathe we didn't even know we were holding.

"Okay I got to go, my boss doesn't like waiting especially on his co-workers. I'm just telling you that you better make a decision and fast."
I started walking away but not before turning back and saying "and if you're really scared of loosing your memories, I'll personally help you regain them. You may be a different person, but you're still the Hinata Chiaki adores.."

I then walked back into the room and waited for Hajime to come back as well.
"Sorry guys, I found it..."
"Good. Now where's the boy?" My boss was eager to start the surgery so that he could get out of here. He'd probably leave this place and go pick up some strippers with his newfound cash. He was a greedy, malicious man who would do anything for cash.
'Hmph, reminds me of my mom. Only in it for the money and fame...like..Hajime?'

My eyes widened in sudden realization of what I had just thought.
'Is that why I don't like him? Because he's just like the people around me?'

The door downstairs opened to reveal the man I was talking about. He went straight to the table, sat down, and said "hah sorry. You gotta go when you gotta go. I'm ready now though..."
he looked up at me and smiled. I gave a small smile back and nodded my head. I then lifted up my pinky as a reminder to him. He did the same.

"Okay Hajime, you're all hooked up. Now, be prepared for sudden drowsiness and a tingling feeling in your body. This is just where we begin. Are you ready?"
Hajime nodded his head hesitantly. He then lied down on the bed, while his eyes became droopier. He finally closed his eyes after looking back up to me.

"Goodbye Hinata Hajime, hello Izuru Kamakura." Jin Kirigiri-the schools principal had said.

My boss added in lightly "goodbye Hajime, hello fame and fortune."
I grunted at his remark.
'This guy seriously needs to go six feet under.'

"What the hell do you want agent 037? Do your work asshole!"
My boss yelled until I went out of his way and into my spot.
'Yup, just like my mother. Fucking douche.'

~Hajime's P.O.V~
I lied down on the bed, ready for what was approaching me.
'Chi was right, I'll be happier with my decision if I make it on my own.'

My eyelids dropped down lower and lower. I looked up at the announcement room to see Chi being taken back by her boss. He seemed to be yelling at her. Everyone around them just stood in shock.
'What the hell? Why is he doing that to her?!'
I saw her roll her eyes at him, look down at me, and walk out of the room. From what I could tell, she had distant fear in her eyes.
'I can't forget you guys. I can't forget my roots. I can't forget Chi. I can't forget Chiaki Nanami. Please let me never for get them.'

With those words being repeated in my mind, I swiftly fell into a deep dark sleep, with no point of return.

'I can't forget..I'm Hajime Hinata. And I..am selfish...'

Meh I'm sorry this is short but I had to leave it on a cliffhanger since the next few chapters are FILLED with important things.

So I wanna ask, what do you guys think is happening in the present? Last chapter there was a present p.o.v, so I just wanna know your thoughts, ideas, anything really about what you think is happening.
