Guardian Angel
By: Samantha Lynn Eldridge

The sun met the horizon,
Even on that dreadful night.
When the young boy could've risen,

But became an angel of might

The young girl,
that loved him so,
became so still
at the news of his death.

She cried an cried,
and cried some more.
To know her love had died.
To breathe with her nevermore.

She would've died
If not for her friends
Without him by her side,
She'd rather not live.

The boy who became and angel,
Watched over her from a distance.
Sometimes from the sky, her very own guardian angel.
She always felt his watchful eyes, even for an instance.

When she was down in the dumps,
And on the verge of death,
He'd always send her a pick-me-up.
Even before her last breath.

When she got into Heaven,
He was waiting by those big, pearly gates,
To hold her in his arms
And finally have his little piece of Heaven.

This poem is dedicated to the love of my life, who became an angel a couple of months ago, Shane Giovanni Mendoza. I'll always love you Kitten.
