**I'm so sorry I'm updating late I was on vacation and I had no service. It's hard to update without wifi. I will try to update another chapter this week and updates will be back to normal now. Every Saturday and Sunday!**
I was walking back to the house after another day of trying to find stuff in need. I was lucky to find a whole box of clothes someone left out. I hated wearing the same shit everyday. It was nice to finally have some more than two things to wear. Even though I’m more focused on food and all that shit once in a while I at least would like to wear something else. I am a girl. My hands were very full and I felt the box start slipping from my hands. Soon I felt the box slip out of my hands and drop onto the ground with the rest of the stuff I was carrying. “Fuck.” I said to myself. I bent down and started collecting my stuff together again. I thought I had it, but then I dropped everything again. As I went back to the ground to pick up my stuff again, I saw someone bend down and help me. It surprised me because no one really helps me out with stuff. People usually try to avoid me because I’m homeless and they think I’m going to try and murder them. I didn’t get to see the man’s face yet, I was just focused on getting my stuff together. Once I finally managed to get all my stuff together I thanked him for helping. It came out very quietly. I thought he didn’t hear me. He must of thought because he said, “You’re welcome.” I then stood up and finally saw his face. He had these beautiful green eyes and had dark hair with a red streak down the middle. I liked dyed hair I thought it always looked really cool. He was a little taller than I was and his face was a little pale but I kind of like it like that. After we both started at each other for a moment he finally spoke to break the silence,
“Umm hi.” Was all he managed to say.
“Hi.” I said. I blushed a little. He was a cute guy, but he probably would never like me. I’m fucking homeless what kind of person likes someone like me.
“Umm t-thanks for helping me pick up my stuff. I umm- thanks.” I said laughing a little at my stupidity. I didn’t know what to say I don’t really talk to people. I was actually never the social type I never socialized with the human race ever.
“No problem.” He smiled at me then looked down at his shoes. He seemed a little shy. I like that. I smiled at him then started to walk home. I didn’t even take 2 steps until he stopped me.
“Hey umm do you want me to walk you home? I could help you carry your stuff y-you know in case you drop it again?”
“I think I’ll be okay.” I said but of course almost dropping everything again. God I really am clumsy. He laughed a little at my actions.
“Here let me help you.” He grabbed the box out of my hands and started to walk with me.
“Thanks.” Was all I said. He just smiled. We started walking back in silence. Not knowing what to say to one another. I soon decided to speak up.
“So what’s your name? Sorry I didn’t quite catch it before.” I said looking down at the ground kicking the small rocks that lay in the road.
“Michael. And yours?” He answered.
“Kayla.” I replied.
“That’s a nice name you got there.” He said smiling at me. I could tell he was looking at me. I was looking down at my shoes, but I felt his eyes on me. It didn’t really creep me out or bother me at all.
“Thanks I-I like your name too.” I said studdering my words. Once we reached a few houses before the abandon house I was staying at I decided I should tell him he can walk back now. I don’t want him knowing I like in the abandon house.
“You can walk back if you want I can handel it from here.” I said. His smile seemed to have dropped as if he was upset I didn’t need him.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes I’m okay from here thank you for helping me Michael.” I smiled at him and he did so back.
“Anything Kayla.” He said as he handed me my box.
“If you need anything else you can let me know I live on the house on the corner up there. You know it right?” He asked.
“Yes I know. I’ll stop by if I need anything thank you so much.” I said. I would like to see him again one day. He really seemed nice, but I don’t know if I will be stopping by his house. What would I do or say.
“Anytime. Hey I’m sorry to ask but umm d-do you want my number? Like for if you need anything or want to hang out or something?” he asked. He wanted to hang out with me? Is he for real? Me. Little Mrs. Homeless. I could not believe what I was hearing. Does he know what I really am? I was shocked by his words.
“Umm I d-don’t have a phone I’m sorry, but I’ll stop by if I need anything I promise.”
“Oh. Okay. I guess I’ll see you around. Bye Kayla.” He said and waved goodbye.
“Goodbye Michael.” I smiled and watched him turn around and walk home. I also turned and started to walk.
The rest of the night I literally couldn’t stop thinking about Michael. He seemed so nice and treated me like a normal person. I would figure the way I looked he would right away figure out that I am homeless and would treat me like shit like everyone else, but he didn’t. I actually wish to see him again. I don’t know how that will work, but hopefully it does. Once I finished eating my canned fruit, I started going through the box of clothes. Most of the clothes were a little big, but they were nice. I also found a new toothbrush. Thank the lord. I went to the neighbors back yard and used their hoes to brush my teeth. If I were going to see this Michael guy again, I at least wanted decent looking teeth. At around 11pm I decided to lay down and go to sleep. Today was an interesting day.
