The Vampire's Sweetheart

Chapter Eleven

───────────────────────────────────

*3rd POV*

Xilo Daniels was the youngest werewolf working for Mr. Valentina, protecting his daughter. He had not been expecting to be selected, but he was grateful for the opportunity all the same. He had quickly grown fond of the little girl. She reminded him of his little sister, and that only made his job of protecting her much easier. He had never had any supernatural troubles when it came to the job, however there were a couple terrorists and crazed gunman who often threatened her safety, but they were easily taken care of. The day the vampire teen had tried to attack Novienna was the first truly eventful thing that had taken place, since the death of Mrs. Valentina.

Xilo traced his mate's face, admiring every feature. He felt blessed. He did not think he would find his mate. He felt by leaving his pack, he was neglecting the opportunity of ever finding his other half when really it only brought her to him. She was honestly the most beautiful creature his eyes have ever seen.

As Khai's eyes began to flutter open, she breathed in deeply feeling comfortable in the presence of her mate. His arms wrapped around her tightly, drawing her more into him and she happily complied allowing herself to snuggle deeper into his warmth.

"Good morning, mate." His voice was deep and rich, and sent a chill down her spine, and she squeezed her eyes tightly.

"G'morning." She murmured sleepily, as he began to place small kisses across her forehead. The peace was short-lived however, they both knew they had to get ready to begin training. Something Xilo secretly dreaded, he did not want to have to watch his mate fight against other werewolves. Although he knew she was very much capable of handling herself, he did not want her in danger.

"When this is all over.." He began, pulling her back a little so he could admire those blue eyes of hers. His breath caught in his throat, when her eyes focused on him as if she could see him clearly. "We are going to leave here. We are going to get a little place of our own and start a family." A smile spread across Khai's face.

"I look forward to loving you, Xilo." Hearing her say his name caused a low growl of pleasure to leave his lips.

"What was your rank in your old pack?" Khai wondered.

"Alpha."

"It must have been hard leaving them, then." He nodded briefly in response.
