Khai was afraid. It was a foreign emotion for her, but at the moment it was hitting her like a truck. The only thing to fear is fear itself, she kept repeating to herself. After Josef was forced to dump the muses' body somewhere deep in the forest, she could not help but pray to the Moon Goddess for an explanation. She just could not understand how she was supposed to be the one to slay Aleksandria, and bring peace among those around her. She even found herself cursing Novienna, blaming her as if she was at fault.

Despite how afraid she was, Khai knew she had to live through tomorrow. She knew she had to fight, because tomorrow night she would be gifted with the ability to see. Her heart began to warm immediately at the thought of seeing Xilo clearly for the first time. She would fight a hundred wars if it meant she could see him for even a minute. Her body began to shake slightly as she traced her face lightly, imagining her own beauty. Her breath hitched in her throat. What if she had no beauty? What if Xilo always flinched at the mere sight of her? She never could have noticed. Gulping, Khai shakily laid her hands back in her lap.

"You do not even know what you look like, yet here you are hating what you can not see." Xilo's deep voice caused her to jump in surprise, as she had not heard him enter the door behind her. Khai shifted her position on the bed, so that she could see his energy and lowered her head in shame.

"Which is quite ironic of me to say, because what I love most about you," She felt him sit in front of her, cradling her face in his hands as he peppered her face with soft, warm kisses. "Is what I can not see."

Khai tilted her head curious, as she accepted his warm embrace. "You do not like how I look?" She chewed on her bottom lip stopping it from quivering from the hurt she felt inside at her assumption.

"I love how you look, Khai. However, I love how you look on the inside more." Xilo spoke slowly, making sure she heard every single word. "You are strong, physically and mentally. You are the only blind wolf I know, yet you carry yourself as if you could see the world the same way I do, maybe even more vividly. You are smart, your intelligence is unquestionable. You are thoughtful, caring, and so, so passionate." Khai's cheeks burned, hearing him compliment her in such a way. She was nervous, without a doubt she was nervous. She could not explain how his words made her feel; she almost felt foolish for thinking that he did not want her.

Xilo stared at the insecure beauty sitting in front of him. He knew his words could not completely diminish all of the doubt she hid secretly in her heart, but he hoped he was able to erase some of it. He honestly had never met a more beautiful, genuine soul than hers. Of course, she was without a doubt the most beautiful pup he had ever seen, but it was her inner beauty that struck him to the core. It excited him knowing his mate was blessed with such characteristics. It was not the first time he had walked in on her in this state, and it made his heart ache knowing it would not be the last.
