Chapter Twenty

Daya's P.O.V.

Mark?

When your mate marks you it represents something personal and meaningful to you and sometimes your mate. Everyone has different markings that represent them and it let's any unmated males know that you are taken. Cora spoke hearing the confusion in my thoughts.

For Luna's the mark develops faster, for us regular wolfs it takes a day or two to appear and a day to heal. She continued.

Upon hearing this I rushed towards the bathroom that is connected to the bedroom and checked out my neck in the mirror, with the girls following me. It looks more like a tattoo of a life line and at the end of it is says 'Just Live'.

I think it represents the many times I or someone else tried to take my life away from me and here I am today, still living. I told Cora with tears in my eyes, tracing the long marking just above my collar bone.

Emma pulled her shirt down, catching my attention and showing me her mark. It is like a bouquet of Aster flowers and it goes from her collar bone to the top of her right breast.

"At first I didn't know what it meant until I asked Liam. He said that it means that I'm as delicate and beautiful as a flower and this is also the type flowers I used to put on my mother's grave when she passed." Emma spoke out staring at her mark.

I had no idea that her mother is gone. I put my hand on her shoulder and squeezed it a little to tell her that I'm here for her. She gave me a grateful smile and put her hand over mine.

"My mark means that Noah will always be there watching over me. Anywhere I am he will be. Nothing can take me away from him." Destiny muttered with a small smile on her face. Hers is of a bird on a branch with its wings up.

I smiled at her seeing that she really loves her mark, along with her mate.

"Mine means free spirit. As you can tell James and I are nothing but free spirits." Chole exclaimed trying to lighten the mood and pulling down her shirt to show hers. We all laughed at her before they all turned towards me.

Chole has small birds flying around on the nape of her neck to her collar bone. We all laughed at her before they all turned towards me. They shared something personal with me so I think I should tell them what I think about my mark.

"I think mine represents the many times I or someone else tried to take my life away from me and here I am today, still living." I whispered tracing my mark while a single year slid down my face. I wiped it away turning towards my new found friends.

"I'm going to miss you all. Even if it's just for two weeks." I murmured sadly.

"We are going to miss you too Day." Destiny spoke pulling us all into a group hug once again.

"Let's help her pack all of these new and beautiful clothes up." Chole cheered clapping her hands together when we pulled away.

And that's what we did. Destiny let me borrow her suit cases and we started packing. They laid all of the outfits on my bed that they think fits being in the Royals home and we packed them into the suit cases.

Once all packed up the girls helped me carry my bags down stairs and to the door. That's where I found my beautiful mate staring at me. When he saw us struggling with the bags he came over and took the cases from us and handed them off to two men behind him telling them to put them in the car.

"While Daya and I are gone James and Liam is in charge. If anything is wrong please contact me and tell me. If anyone does not follow James and Liam's  reasonable orders you will be punished. Is that clear?" He spoke in a demanding voice.

I just noticed that the house is full of people. There was a chorus of  'Yes Alpha' and Kaden turned towards me putting his arm around my waist.

"That's right people. Your man's in charge." James smirked crossing his arms.

Before he could say anything, Chole slapped him in the back of his head. He flinched and rubbed the back of his head, making me and everyone else laugh.

"Are you ready to go, Day?" Kaden asked, opening the door for me. I nodded my head and stepped out of the door. He followed right behind me closing the door after himself.

I looked around the pack house and noticed something moving in the bushes in the woods not too far away from the house. Then I saw him.
