Chapter 6

     Too Late Now

After Fortis found the ladies dancing together attracting many a man's eye they decided to leave. Curo was reluctant, but the team grabbed her and dragged her out.

"Well, that's quite a way to celebrate my return and departure." Lupus said with a smile. They all laughed as they walked through the fate's realm. For a while they were quiet just enjoying being close to each other again. Then something interrupted their moment.

Would you all come to the meeting room. The head fate requested through the mind link. They all made their way towards the domed building standing in the center of their realm.

They were immediately let in, and they appeared before Lupus' family. The head fate.

"You wanted to see us head fate?" Lupus asked.

"Yes. It's nearly time to go Lupus. You should say goodbye to your friends." It said. Lupus' spirits fell. She turned around to look at her friend's in sadness.

"That went faster than I thought it would." She said quietly. Curo ran to her and engulfed her in a hug. Lupus wrapped her arms around her in return close to tears.

"We'll miss you girl." Curo whispered. Next Lupus hugged Decoris.

"You have an amazing mating bond to look forward to. Just leave it all to me." Lupus smiled, and nodded at her. When Lupus came to Fortis she stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do, but Fortis knew exactly what he was going to do. He wrapped his arm around Lupus' waist and pulled her forward so their lips crashed together. At first Lupus was shocked at the intimate touch but when Fortis worked his tongue into her mouth she instantly threw her arms around his neck.

They broke apart seconds later. Lupus stepped away wide eyed and looked at Decoris. "I have something to confess." Fortis said turning her face back to look at him. "Decoris and I were only together to make you jealous, but when you left there was no point to it so we broke it off. I'm sorry we lied." He explained quickly.

"Why would you do that? And why did you have to chose this moment to tell me?!" Lupus yelled at him. He flinched and looked away.

When he looked back he had his answer ready. "I love you." Lupus froze as tears started to run down her face.

"Well, it's too late now. I'm leaving this realm today and I probably won't see you for another hundred years." Lupus sniffled and covered her eyes. "Why didn't you just tell me you loved me sooner!"

"I was afraid you wouldn't return the feeling. Nothing is worse than loving someone you can't have."

"Nothings worse than feeling guilty about loving your best friend's boyfriend! I just...I have to go." Lupus turned away, but couldn't go much further as Fortis had reached forward and grabbed her wrist in a death vise afraid she would disappear before he got the chance to clear things up between them.

"What do you mean?" Fortis whispered unsure of what his ears had heard.

"I always loved you Fortis, but as I said before it's too late now." Lupus wrenched her wrist out of Fortis' grip and walked towards Silva. "I'm ready." The Oracle's eyes wrinkled in concern, but it vanished after a few seconds and turned to a smile.

"Ok, now when you are reborn you will relive a new childhood. You will only get your memories back once you've turned eighteen. You will not go through heat like the others. You will be ten times stronger than the rest of the wolves in whatever pack you're in. I can't tell you when the threat will occur, but we have to act now if we want to stop it. With all the information I have just told you are you still sure you want to continue with this?" Silva explained.

"Yes." Lupus responded. She didn't dare look back at her friend's for fear that she would change her mind.

"Then we shall proceed. Please turn around." Left with no choice Lupus turned and saw the pain in her friend's eyes. Her fists clenched in restraint. Silva's hands moved to the side of Lupus' head. "Clear your head of all thoughts. If you don't this will be extremely painful, and I don't want to hurt you." Lupus did as Silva said, and then her friend's watched as Lupus' body started to glow and then disappeared.
