We meet again

chapter 10

The car ride to the restaurant was quiet, once we arrive we walk to the hostess station and they guide us to the table. "So how do you know Caleb and them?" He asks

"speak of the devil" I say through the grit of my teeth

Cade gives me a puzzled look "what?"

I point to where Caleb and Annie are standing waiting to be taken to there table and then he spots us and they start to walk over "Cade? Reese? what are you guys doing here?" he asks

"we are on a date" Cade says and I just death stare Caleb

"Really so are we" Caleb says

"Well I guess you guys should be on your way" I say

"Actually, waiter can you add another table" He says and of course the waiter adds another table

"well if you'll excuse me" I say getting up and dragging Caleb with me

"what the hell are you doing?" I whisper yell at him

"what I'm just joining two of my dear friends on a date" he says innocently

I stomp on his foot "If you ruin my date I will shoot you" I say as he rubs his foot

we walk back to the table and I take my seat across from Cade but of course Caleb sat next to me and Annie was across from Caleb and next to Cade. The waiter walks "what would you like to drink?" he asks

"I will have a water" Annie says politely

THe waiter looks at Cade " I will have a water as well" He says

"me too" Caleb says

the waiter finally looks at me "what would you like to drink miss?" He asks

"Poison" I say in a serious tone

"She will also have a water" Cade says with a smile he walks away

"It's Annie right?" I say looking at her

"Yes, your Reese right?" She asks

"yes" I say

"So Annie what do you see in Caleb?" I ask "It baffles me that such a lovely girl like you would have an interest in someone like Caleb" I say

"Well-" she was cut of by the buzz of my phone

I got a text from Caleb

Caleb: what are you doing?

Me: If you are going to ruin my date I'm going to ruin yours

Once I send the text I power off my phone so he won't bother me anymore. The waiter comes back "Are you guys ready to order?" He asks

"Yes, I would like an order of the spaghetti and meatballs" I say

"I would like the house salad with italian dressing" Annie says

"I want an order of Lasagne" Caleb says

"And I would like the cheese raviolis with marinara sauce" Cade says

"Coming right up"The waiter says

"So Reese how do you and Caleb know each other?" Annie asks

"We went to highschool together" I say

"And how do you know Caleb?" I ask

"We have psychology together" She answers

"So Cade how is Marcus?" Caleb asks

"My brother is doing fine" He answers

the an awkward silence falls over the table. The I feel Caleb's hand creep onto my upper thigh and to be honest I liked it but I'm on a date with Cade not him, so I did what any reasonable person would do I slowly grabbed my fork from the table and stabbed him in the had of course not hard enough to puncture the skin it was more of a forceful jab. By the time Caleb removed his hand the waiter was walking over with our food, he sets the plates down and the silence falls on the table once again.

About half way through the meal Annie goes to bathroom

"Excuse me " she says as she gets up and walks to the bathroom

"Yeah I think I'm going to go to the bathroom as well" Cade says standing up and walking towards the bathroom. Once they are out of earshot I start to scold Caleb

"What are you doing?" I ask for like the millionth time tonight

"What am I doing? what are you doing? you just stabbed me in the had with a fork" he says rubbing his hand

"First of that was a light jab-" I say

"no it wasn't" he says

"yes it was" I say

"No it wasn't"

"yes it was"

"How about this I get to stab you with my fork to make it even" He says picking up his fork

"No" I say, I take a sip of my water and while doing so I felt a sharp pain in my leg

"Did you just stab me?" I ask

"No I jabbed you" He says

I look down at my leg "Oh my god I'm bleeding" I say

"let me see" he says placing his hand on my leg where he stabbed me and then I stab him back

"ow" he says rubbing his hand

"Payback's a bitch" I say sticking my tongue out at him

"It really is" he says holding his fork up

"Two can play at that game" I say raising my fork but we were sadly interrupted

"Children give me the forks" Cade says taking the forks "You can finish dinner with your spoons" he says

"How am I supposed to eat noodles with a spoon if they keep falling off of it" I say in a duh tone

"You should've thought about that before stabbing each other" Cade replies

We finish dinner but I had to get a ride home with Caleb and Annie because Cade got called into work because Marcus had to go out of town for some reason.I walk to my dorm and it turns out that Annie and I live in the same building.
