Dean opened his eyes, slowly expecting a dim light, but it was black. He groaned as he sit up, trying to make sense of his surroundings. He could tell he wasn't in the motel room, as he went to stand up he realized he was chained. He struggled against the bindings for what seemed like an eternity before he heard the echoes of footsteps . he looked up in time to see a face that was all to familiar and one that he hopped to never see again.

"Alistair." he sneered. The man laughed.
"Never thought you'd see me again huh?" he chuckled, Dean let out a low growl.
"Well anyways, I have a new method of torture I want to try. " he smirked before snapping his fingers and Cas appeared tied up in a chair, gagged.
"Please don't!" Dean screamed but it was already to late, Alistair had plunged a blade through Cas, who let out a scream. Then he kept stabbing him, over and over and over, blood spattering on the walls and all over Dean. Alistair finally stepped away, Cas lay slumped over in the chair, a bloody mauled mess, still. Dean screamed but it was no use Alistair laughed as he stepped closer, morphing into Sam, dangling a blade directly above Dean's eye.

He jolted up sweating and panicking, his head hitting something else, causing him to fall back down onto the couch. He looked up his eyes meeting blue ones, relief washed over him. It was just a dream. Cas was saying something, but of course Dean couldn't hear it, the only time he could hear anymore was during his nightmares, things he never wanted to hear in the first place. Cas stood up and flipped on the light before kneeling on the floor by Dean.
'Do you want to talk about it?' he signed, Dean shook his head and Cas sighed. He looked up at Dean sadly. He grabbed his hand and led him to the bed and crawled in motioning for Dean to join him.

'Aren't you mad at me?' he asked confused. Cas sat up looking at Dean.
'I may be mad but that does not mean I don't care about you, we were both at fault but we can learn from it and learn how to deal with situations like earlier if we both forgive each other. That's what I'm trying to do now if you'll let me. ' Dean smiled slightly and nodded before crawling cautiously into the bed.

Cas gingerly wrapped his arms around Dean, kissing his head. It was so domestic and it felt weird to be cared for like this, Dean hated to admit but he actually liked chick-flick moments, and this one was no exception. He actually fell asleep shortly afterwards, cocooned in Cas' arms.

He woke up to an empty bed, he bolted upright and sighed when he saw Cas packing something into the bags. He turned around and smiled.
'Ready to go see Sam?' he nods and climbed out of bed and quickly changed.

Now sitting in the car waiting for Cas his mind raced trying to piece together where Metatron could be. Once Cas climbed into the car, he tapped Dean on the shoulder snapping him out if his revere.
'Hey you said Metatron liked books and shit right?' he asked, Cas seemed a bit put off at the question but nodded before responding.
'Yeah. He really likes literature. Why?'
'I just had and idea, I'll tell you and Sam together ' Cas nodded before starring the engine and driving off.

Dean stared out the window his thoughts still racing, but drifting away from Metatron, but towards his nightmare. He had been having them a lot lately, normally he would wake up in the middle of the night and wouldn't go back to sleep. The only times he had a good night sleep was when he was sharing a bed with the former angel. Will this be what it's like every night? To have a peaceful sleep? Dean shook his head, he couldn't think like that.  I can't be with him I should break it off now I mean we've already gotten into a fight. They are just going to use him to get to me. Us being together will draw unnecessary attention to while we are on a case. I'll just bring him down.  He was so lost in his thoughts he hadn't even realized that the car had stopped. He jumped when he felt a hand touch his shoulder.

He turned to meet a pair of bright blue eyes, the image from his dream forcing its way through his mind again.
'Are you ok?' he nods before speaking,  looking at Cas.
"Cas, I don't think this is going to work. " he didn't even seemed shocked when the words came out. He just sighed at Dean and gave him a look.
'Dean I don't know exactly why you don't want to do this, but I'm not letting you break this off. If your scared tell me. '
He huffed and and looked at Cas.
'I'm not scared, it's just not going to work out. '
'Why because I'm a guy, you think your not worthy, you think either you or I are going to get hurt? Dean I don't care, and if you don't think you're not worthy to be in this relationship then you're wrong, you have proven more than once that you will fight by my side, and I trust you and I will continue to trust you. '

Dean turned away, closing his eyes, he didn't mean it. He knew it. Why would Cas want me? Cas gently grabbed Dean's chin, turning his face to look at him. He smiled and leaned in and kissed Dean, it was slow and soft, but at that moment it was a confirmation, a promise. He pulled away caressing Dean's cheek and mouthed the words I, want, you. Dean smiled and kissed him again, before climbing out of the car.
'Come on let's go talk to my dumb ass brother '

Cas smiled when he saw Dean walk in and give his brother a hug before sitting down. They all talked for a while about when he was getting released when Cas remembered what Dean had said before they left. He gently tapped Dean on the shoulder of get his attention, he looked over at him smiling slightly.
'Your plan? To track down Metatron?' realization flashed across  Dean's face.
'Right,  well he still has Some if Cas's grace right? Well what was the one thing that always comforted him while he was down on Earth?'
"Books. " Sam replied, as well as signed. Dean nodded.
'Well what of he's hiding it in a library, in a book?'
"Well that's very plausible but even so what library, and there are countless books to look through? " Cas signed, speaking determinedly but hopeful.
'Well maybe we can try the library closest to the hotel he used to stay at, and couldn't we use a spell to help track down the grace or something?'

Cas considered this for a moment, as did Sam.
"Yeah, that might work we'd have to more research once we get back to the bunker, but it might work. " Cas replied. Dean nodded. Cas smiled and kissed Dean on the cheek, causing the other to blush. Sam smiled at the two. Cas gently rested his head on Dean's shoulder.
"I'm tired " he slurred, sloppily singing the words. Dean smiled.
"Then take a nap, for once we don't have anything we are doing or can do at the moment. " Cas nodded and soon fell asleep, his head in Dean's lap, having shifted positions, Dean's hand absentmindedly running his hand through his hair as he talked to Sam.

"I'm glad your happy. "  Sam blurted out
"huh" Sam went to go sign it out again.
"No I understood what you said, but what do you mean?" he asked.
"You and Cas, your happy. " he nodded looking down at Cas, his boyfriend. Boyfriend. He smiled at the word.

Later that evening Sam was released and they all piled back into the car and began the long journey back home, to the bunker. Cas was now driving while Sam slept in the back, and Dean in the front next to him he smiled at the two hunters, before glancing at Dean and smiling. He drive for another two hours before reaching the bunker.

He pulled the car into the garage of the bunker and put it in park.
"Sam wake up" he said, shaking Dean awake. The younger hunter groaned as he sat up, dragging his hand down his face before climbing out of the car. Dean's eyes fluttered open, his eyes landing on his boyfriend's, smiling.
'Come on' Cas sighed, he nodded and climbed out if the car, Cas following. They all grabbed their bags and headed into the house.

"You guys go get some sleep, well research in the morning. " Sam said, setting his bag in the table. Dean looked as though he was going to argue but Cas put his hand on the others arm, he looked at the hunter and shook his head, Dean nodded.
"Night Sammy. " he whispered.
"Night Dean. " and with that he walked off towards his bed.

Dean went up to his room and finished unpacking, before getting changed into a fresh pair of underwear and t-shirt. Cas showed up shortly after, his hair dripping and his shirt clinging to his damp body. Dean froze, his eyes racking over him. There wasn't much left to the imagination. He shook his head as he returned his gaze up to Cas' face. He was rubbing his eyes tiredly before signing 'Am I sleeping in here with you tonight?' Dean nodded, Cas smiled tiredly before kissing Dean on the cheek and climbing under the covers. Dean followed in after him, turning off the light.

It was odd sharing a bed with someone, he's done it many times before, but this this was different. The closest he had come was with Lisa, but even then it wasn't the same, this was his bed, his house, not Lisa's bed or Lisa's house or some crappy motel room or some other chicks house, but his. He knew he shouldn't be making such a big deal out of this but to him it was. He felt Cas' arms snake around his waist, pulling him closer, he felt him burry his head into the back of Dean's neck, he could feel his warm breath, mixed in with the dampness of his hair. Dean blushed a little, he had never really been cuddled, he'd always been the cuddler, and he had to admit he liked it. He soon fell asleep, shortly after Cas' breathe steading to a slow rhythm, having fallen asleep. The laid there under the covers, happy, even if just for a little while they were happy.
