"Come on wake up, wake up, you can do this Castiel. " Cas repeated to himself over and over again. It's was no use. He collapsed in the ground, he needed to do something. His mind blank of ideas it began to wander to his family. Not his angelic family, his family that was always there, the Winchesters.
He thought of how he and Dean slowly warmed up to each other, and Dean became less hostile towards him. The time he and Sam had first hugged came to mind. He couldn't help but chuckle a little at the memory Dean and he have hugged a couple times before but it was awkward between Sam and Cas. Now it was a comfortable embrace. Memories came flooding in and he was slowly filled with warmth. One thing stood out. He loved them. They were his family and he would do anything for them. And he loved Dean, he knew he was home. A blinding light soon filled the vast darkness, but this time instead of pain following a sense of warmth washed over Castiel.
Cas slowly opened his eyes and took notice of the dark blue haze that covered the room. He felt something pressed up against him. He looked over to see Dean wrapped around him, his head rested on Cas's shoulder, his arms wrapped around his torso and there legs were slightly intertwined. Dean was still fully dressed. Cas smiled, he was somehow awake. He took note of his surroundings and noticed that Sam was in the bed opposite. He heard a soft little snore escape Dean's lips as he clutched onto Cas a bit tighter. Cas smiled as he lightly planted a kiss on Dean's forehead.
He didn't want to disturb anyone so he decided he would sit here and wait for someone to wake up. He was a bit stiff but he didn't mind. He watched Dean sleep peacefully. Cas could still feel his grace swirling inside of him, he was an angel again. More importantly he was glad Dean and Sam were alive.
The rooms light had begun to turn into a lighter blue as the sun began to rise. Dean stirred a little in his sleep. Cas looked over as Dean slowly began to wake up, he mumbled something but Cas couldn't make out what. Dean slowly opened his emerald eyes and looked straight into Cas's. Dean's eyes widened comically as he backed away slightly, his arms still wrapped around Cas.
"Cas?" he asked. Cas smiled and nodded.
"Hello Dean. " Dean's face contorted into an expression he couldn't quite place before he threw himself onto Cas and hugged him tightly.
"Don't do that again. " he whispered. Cas chuckled as he rubbed circles into his back.
"Well I wasn't the one who died. " Cas felt tears prick his eyes a little at the memory of Dean lying dead on the ground. Dean let out a small chuckle before he pulled away. Cas stopped for a moment.
"Dean. " he said, his voice wavering a bit.
"Yeah?" he asked concerned.
"Can you hear me?" Dean nodded his face breaking into a big grin. Cas smiled as he leaned in and kissed Dean, framing his face with his hands, Dean wrapped his arms around Cas's neck deepening the kiss. Cas could practically feel the happiness flowing off of Dean. It was comforting.
Dean pulled away first. "God I missed hearing your voice. " he whispered. Cas smiled. Dean looked over Cas's shoulder as he stood up pulling on Cas's hand. "C'mon lets go watch the sunrise. " he said happily. Cas nodded as he stood up.
They walked outside and sat on the porch. Dean rested his head on Cas's shoulder. Cas was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and his socks. "Are you going to go back to wearing your trenchcoat all the time now?" Dean asked staring down at their intertwined hands. Cas pondered this looking over at his boyfriend.
"Probably although I think I'll change my outfit every now and a then. " Dean nodded.
"I like the trenchcoat. " he stated.
