Within the few hours of sleep that I'd gotten I had slept well. It was hard not to when his scent had encased me the way it had. I didn't really want to wake up but I also didn't want to be sleeping until noon for the rest of my life.... So reluctantly, I willed my eyes to open. Sans wasn't up yet.For a second, I'd almost screamed because I had forgotten that I'd asked him to stay.
He looked you peaceful, which wasn't a normal thing that Sans showed. Peace. Could I make it last...? Just this once..? His obnoxious smirk was gone without a trace, and his eyes didn't hold that miserable, tired look. Was he always so attractive? No... He was asleep... He was only cute because he looked happier, and knowing him, it wouldn't last long.
Then the corner of his lips twitched up.. At first I hadn't thought anything of it... People twitch in their sleep... Apparently I had let myself that he was a skeleton... One of his eye opened halfway, and then the other had done the same. The second they opened they were watching me. I was dreading the smart comment that would follow like "See somethin' ya like?" or "Pictures last a lifetime ya know"
But no.. There was no stupid comment. Trust me, I waited. He just stared back and breathed calmly. Why was it so hot in here??? He must not have been fully awake yet right? Slowly his lips had twitched up into a tired smile. It made my heart flutter.
"Mornin' dollface. Sleep well?" He asked in his tired, low, Raspy voice.
What was I saying? Oh yeah..
"Mmm... Yeah.. It was better.. You?" I replied.
"Gotta say I liked havin' my bed." Oh! Right! "It's yours ya know.. Why didn't you say so?" I slapped myself for sounding like his mother...
He chuckled softly. "Sweetheart you need it more"
I scoffed. "I need it more? No, you need it more... You're just bone... I have padding... you're sleeping here."
His stupid smirk was back and he raised an amused brow bone. "You do realize I'm not leaving you alone again right?"
I groaned and rolled onto my back staring up and crossing my arms. "Oh come on! It was one nightmare!! I just gotten a taste of freedom! I'll be fine I promise!"
One time, Sans had fallen asleep on the couch and rather than waiting for him, I went upstairs, and slept. The next morning I had brought it up to him, suggesting that he should let me alone more often... He was skeptical for about a week until he finally agreed and allowed me to sleep alone in the room.
Out of the corner of my eye, I watched him sigh, and prop himself up with his right arm. "Look Frisk, You aren't just some random human that Tori wanted me to protect anymore alright? You're more than that now... Despite what you think, You are still my best friend, ya get me? If you're going through something groundbreaking that I know you've been going through, since we met... Then I wanna help" He explained
I sighed and looked over. It was very subtle, but I wouldn't have seen it if he didn't want me to.. He was worried. He wanted to know what was happening and I.... I just couldn't tell him... That would risk Gaster finding out that they know and possibly make my nightmare a fatal reality. If I drag them into this, it's game over. .
"Alright fine.. You're taking the bed though... " I decided.
"I'll be damned if I'm sleepin' on the bed.. Ladies first"
"Age before beauty numb skull" I retorted.
And then we both laughed.
He sat up and yawned, standing. When he stretched, his bones popped and cracked, Nonetheless I had enjoyed watching the hem of his T-shirt ride up. He glanced over his shoulder at me for a minute. Searching for something that he couldn't seem to put his finger on. Then he spoke.
"C'mon short stuff, Paps is probably up and wondering where we are."
I pulled myself out of bed as well and stretched. "I think you meant 'hot stuff'"
He laughed. "Whateva floats ya boat dollface."
My bones cracked when I stretched and Sans had just shot me a look that screamed "That's fuckin' wrong" With discomfort and I laughed.
Then we headed downstairs.
Today would be a good day.. I could feel it...
