Frisk's POV
He looked like he was holding himself back. Why? Why was he trying to hold back? He didn't before. Had Flowey already told him? If so I was fucked. I didn't have a plan for that. I didn't think one could be made. It would all depend on how he'd reacted.
The plan I had set in place during the time in solitary was to escape as soon as possible, see what I came to see, and die. Preferably by my hand but If I wasn't quick about it, It would be by edgy's hand. I didn't want to cause more trouble than I already had.
"So to kick things off, why didn't you eat, huh?" He asked. Irritation was clear in his deep voice and it sent chills down my spine.
"I don't like spaghetti" Was all I said. It wasn't rude, but it wasn't cowering in fear either. I didn't show any emotion from my folded up position against the wall and the only emotion he had shown was anger.
"Fine then, starve. What is your name and why are you here?" He'd inquired.
"Not so fast, in the note you said you'd answer my questions in turn for answers to your own." I did have a few questions of my own. I wasn't just doing this for the hell of it.
"Yes, but I also said to eat the fuckin' spaghetti but you didn't do that did ya?" He spat, he voice raising.
Anger issues. You could either be on his good side and cower like he wanted me to do, or you could reason with him until he beat you to a pulp. I needed more bruises anyway right? I wasn't backing down from this guy. Human, monster, creature from Narnia, whatever he was.
I slowly stood, my bruised stomach stinging. I wanted to wince but I wouldn't because it had shown weakness and I didn't have enough power to heal myself yet. To lessen the pain in some way, I leaned against the wall and crossed my arms.
"I don't enjoy being told what to do. I believe I'd mentioned such a thing earlier but perhaps you didn't hear me over the sound of your boot ramming into my gut." I hissed.
"Maybe if you hadn't tried to defy me in the first place I wouldn't have beat you. Clearly you couldn't hear when I was beating you either."
Then silence.
I was at a loss for words. He wasn't wrong but he was. I shouldn't have tried anything but I should have so I did. Everything in me was screaming because I wanted to prove him wrong to his face. Why was I so content on proving him wrong? Why did it matter? Was it because I was so stubborn?
I sighed. "My name is Crystal Dein. I didn't fall, I jumped, not planning to live. So far, this is where it's gotten me." I said in cover. Not all of it was a lie. I did jump, and Crystal Dein was my real name. There was a reason I had called myself Frisk though.
I sat back down and avoided his stare. I wasn't planning on giving in until my questions were answered but Fighting wouldn't get us far.
After a minute there was a shuffling sound and my bag was thrown at me. I caught it and brightened up a bit, opening it and immediately going for a can of food. At this rate I didn't care what it was. I popped it open and ate some, groaning in pleasure at the taste.
I pressed the back of my head against the door and opened my eyes, peering at the skeleton who was now sitting in the old wooden chair. He looked calmer than before. He was only miserable now. So he did have some good?
Was that Sans taking action just now?
After a second he broke the silence. "You've answered three of mine so I guess it's fair that I answered yours. I'm a man of my word" He sad with a sigh.
I thought for a moment. "Who all is down here?"
"Well, me, my brother, and a flower" He replied.
So Papyrus was here...? How come Flowey didn't know? Did he keep Papyrus locked in the house??? That didn't seem like something even Undyne would do. But then again, this wasn't sans anymore. I decided to play dumb for now. I scoffed. "I've seen plenty of flowers down here. Are you telling me they're all monsters?"
He glared at me. "No stupid, only one of them is"
A slight silence filled the room but it was a comfortable one. He wasn't intimidating he was trying to be though, like Flowey had said. Tried a little too hard in my opinion. Sans had stood and stretched his back. "I'll be back tomorrow. Rest up, you're going to need it. " was all he'd said before the door opened, shut, and locked again.
