Frisk's POV

I was genuinely happy to hear somebody other than myself say my name. He looked both amazed and surprised. I supposed he didn't expect me to come back, leaving him to rot just like everybody else. But that was silly. He knew I cared about him, and I suppose I just proved my point further.

"Fr-Frisk what are you doing here?!?" Flowey asked, sounding a small bit worried. Honestly I wasn't sure why. Sure he cared about me but never enough to want to save my life.

Holding my hand out, he detached himself from the ground and latched around my shoulder. It was a skill I'd found out he had in waterfall, the last time I was down here. Slowly, I stood, crying out in pain. Yup, it was broken.... For fuck's sake.... Flowey was nice enough to support me through using his vines.

"I-I'm here to get some peace and quiet... But you said there are others?" I asked, glancing at him for a response.

The face was all I needed. He looked kind of annoyed but scared. There was also a flash of sympathy in his eyes. Sans was down here. He could be only one of many, but I'm not sure who else. Perhaps papyrus? Toriel? I'd have to ask. So I did, walking toward the entrance of the ruins.

"So beside you and Sans, who else is here?"

"It's just him and I... He's very changed Frisk...."

"Tell me something I don't know." I said, rolling my eyes.

"No Frisk, I'm serious... He's not anything like he used to be....."

I have to admit, I was a bit curious as to why he was so jumpy on the subject. I knew Sans had changed majorly but I wasn't around to see the changes. What could've changed so drastically that even Flowey was scared of him?

". . . . . What kind of changes?" I asked, letting my stupid curiosity get the better of me. It always got in the way of things and would grow so strong that I couldn't avoid it. I recall a time in Hotlands that I walked away from Sans, mid sentence simply to get a closer look at the magma flowing below my at the time.

"Well for starters he looks completely different.... He tries to act badass and has this.... This..... Asshole demeanor.... It's rare to catch him making a pun... it's more less only sex jokes now and he's tal-"

I cut him off with my laughter. "Sans? Tall? You're kidding right?" I glanced at him, walking through the catacombs.

I'd kind of missed Tori's puzzles. It was refreshing to get back into the swing of things. Tori, I found, was very good at sleight of hand She would use it when I was little to teach me things. Her way of teaching worked very well. I remembered how on occasion, Tori would take me through the catacombs to show me her new puzzles.

She had claimed that it was strictly for her own entertainment each day and nothing more, but it was no fun if she knew all the answers. She liked to watch me do them. And because I loved her, I would do it. She was very smart but so was I. I wasn't exactly surprised to find that the puzzles had been altered again.

"Yes, he's much taller. He's more powerful than before... I'd know, I tried attacking him... He's gotten crack on his face Frisk, the ones Gaster had and his aura isn't blue anymore, it's yellow."  Flowey said in a quick, somewhat hushed tone.

He had Gaster's cracks. The cracks that nobody knew the cause of. One that ran from above his right eye and to the back of his skull, and the other, that ran from the bottom of his left eye, down to his mouth. The image of the scarred face and creepy, void dripping smile flashed in my head and I gasped, shivering.

"..... I gotta see it for myself" I said, deciding it'd be best to see in person to believe it. I suppose I didn't really believe drastic change until I saw it. I was going to do my best to hide who I was from Sans. I certainly didn't want to put up with his questions.... He'd interrogate me for weeks.

"No Frisk!!! He'll kill you!"  He protested.

"If I die, then I die. Flowey I'm doing this, with or without you.... I get it, he's changed... But if you suddenly care if I die or not then I suppose everybody's changed a lot...." I stated, matter-of-factly.

Flowey stayed silent for the rest of the walk. I suppose I proved a point. He seemed to tense up a bit when we arrived at Tori's old place. I guess he considered Tori his mom as much as Asriel did.

Taking a deep breath, I stepped through the door.
