I started thinking about the reasons why he wanted me to get away from them. Was it because they have a secret cult that I did not know about? Were they vampires and werewolves? Did those things even remotely existed?
If so, I could take them on any day I wanted to.
Matt does not need to protect me from anything. I am a big girl, but apparently he is not. He needs to grow some balls and get over it.
“YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST ANSWERED ME!!” I yell at him when he walked away and then I slammed the door shut behind me.
I screamed in frustration and threw my hands up in the air.
“UGH! He makes me so mad!” I tell myself. Maybe I am going crazy, because I am talking to myself…out loud.
Two can play at that game.
I looked at my window and then looked back at my door, wondering if I should take a leap of faith and leave this place.
I sighed and decided I should just leave for a while and gather my thoughts.
I slowly opened up my window and looked behind my shoulder to make sure Matt was not secretly coming in the room. He wasn’t.
Good. I thought. Stay hidden away in your room or wherever you are.
I sat on the window, looking down at the ground.
It is kind of a long jump, but I will make it, hopefully.
I count to three slowly in my head and jump for it.
I hit the ground with a thud and landed flat on my face.
Great.
I slowly pick myself up off the grass and I started walking fast to make sure Matt would not see me or even think to stop me.
What I am about to do is going to upset him, I know. But, I need to do this. For MY OWN GOOD. Not for his.
Once I finally got up the steps and to the door, my stomach clenches.
Am I doing the right thing? I sure hope I am.
I got the courage to knock on the door and I waited for my arrival to greet me.
The door opens and I see Josh standing before me with the biggest grin on his face that I have hardly ever seen in a while.
“Hi Josh…” I manage to say.
“Hey Heather, what are you doing here? I mean, I am glad to see you, but Matt was in a frenzy when you guys left and I knew he told you to stay away from here”
