Chapter Five

Jeonghan's POV

She stared at me with her big round eyes and it took a whole lot of strength for me not to just kiss those eyes.

Ever since the night I met her on the streets of our Vampire Community, I knew there is something special about her.

Her helpless demeanor that night made my heart weak and it almost felt as if I could feel the helplessness like her.

So I decided to help her and almost threw a rampage when those vampire placed their dirty hands on someone as precious as her.

She told us that she's 17 and she's turning 18 in two months. That's when her full vampire transformation will take place.

"Umm, Jeonghan?"

I broke out of the trance from thinking about her and looked at her.

"Weren't we going to go down and eat?"

She asked with a confused look and I awkwardly removed my hands from her cheeks and placed them in the front pockets of my jeans.

"Uh, yea! Let's go."

I turned around and headed for the door to her room and walked out, hearing her small footsteps right behind me.

Angelica's POV

"So Lica, your transformation will be complete in two months, are you excited?"

I looked up from my plate towards Hoshi and lightly nodded.

"Sort of. I'm going to have both powers of an Angel and Vampire, so it's quite cool."

He shot me his smile which made his eyes disappear and appear themselves in a 10:10 position.

"Also, you're finding your soulmate in two months."

I now turned towards Dokyeom and lightly nodded.

Whenever the transformation is complete, it's time for that person to find their other half. It can either be one person, two or three, or etc.

Our vampires are not the same as werewolves. All the werewolves have a significant half, while we vampire would have maybe quaters and such.

"Speaking of soulmates, have you guys found yours?"

"Ten of us have." Seungkwan answered.

"Who?"

Then, the ten of them raised their hands. I figured that they were, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, Dokyeom, Mingyu, Minghao, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino.

The ones who didn't raise their hands were Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Joshua.

I laughed, which gained attention from all 13 of them.

"What's so funny?" Vernon asked from the other side of the table.

"Well, I mean, how can the youngsters find their soulmates while the 3 eldest haven't?"

I placed a hand in front of my mouth and laughed silently.

"Don't rub it in Woman."

Seungcheol playfully glared at me and the other two followed suit.

"Fine fine, I won't. Anyways, where are your soulmates now? I mean, soulmates are inseparable. They always stick with each other."

"It's true though, but our soulmates were all humans. They love us and we love them, but they didn't want to live eternally like us, so we respect their decision and so, they have all passed. The pain and hurt was hard for all of us, but we moved past it, knowing that they want us to."

Dino answered, with a hint of sadness in his tone. I felt sympathetic for them since, you can only find a soulmate or soulmates once in your life, there are no more chances.

"I'm sorry, for all of you."

I placed my hand over the one sitting next to me and it was Wonwoo.

He lightly smiled and nodded.

"It's fine. We're happy now since we've lived a millenium. It's been like 10 decades ago since we've lost them so it's fine."

Mingyu reassured me and I simply nodded.

Now I turned towards the no soulmate squad.

"So, why are you three the odd ones out?"

They simply just shrugged.

"We have no idea Lica. We've lived through a millenium, met zillions of girls and yet, none of them were our soulmates. It's kind of weird."

I nodded understandingly.

I then looked at my wristwatch and saw that it was 8pm.

"It's 8 now. So pardon me, you none sleeping machines, I'm going to sleep. Goodnight~"

They all chuckled but said "Goodnight" nonetheless, and I quickly retired to my bedroom.
