Amy's POV
After finishing college, I walk home and flop on the couch.
"The usual then?" My mum comes in, sitting on the arm of the couch. I nod and she laughs quietly.
"It will get easier honey, it's what happens when you start a new year within college. Anyways, Steve has invited us both out to a fancy meal at Zoms." She smiles.
"Isn't Zoms very pricey?" I sit up, looking at her.
"Yes. But, he insists he pays as I cooked last night." She nods and squeaks.
"What is Steve to you?" I shake my head and look.
"Just a friend darling." She laughs nervously.
"So he isn't replacing dad?"
"Amy, I know your dad would want us to be happy. St-"
"Your replacing him aren't you?" My eyes start to water as I stand up.
"Amy no." She shakes her head and grabs my shoulder.
"You don't understand how much dad means to me. I still go up to the one picture I have with him and tell him my day. Because I know he listens. He's still here mum. He's not going. How dare you attempt to replace him with Steve!?" I shake my head and wipe my tears.
"I will always love your father."
"And so will I! Doesn't mean I go and call someone else my dad. It would have been your wedding anniversary next week too! I bet you didn't remember that did you? No, because only I remember that. Because I was the only one that listened to him!" I see her eyes water slightly and she breathes in heavily and sighs.
"No I didn't remember that. Do you want me to tell you why? Ever since he passed away, I've forgotten a lot of stuff. My life has been a mess without him. And I've only just got it back on track. Steve is a lovely guy. But he will never replace your dad." She whispers the last sentence and walks into the kitchen.
I shake my head and cry a little more, rushing upstairs to my bedroom and slamming the door shut. I jump on the bed and sob into the pillow.
After minuets of crying, I turn off my belly and lie on my back to view the picture of me and my dad, but it's not their. I narrow my eyebrows and stand up, walking towards where it suppose to be. I see the image on the floor and bend down to pick it up.
"I'm s-so so sorry dad." I shake my head. "This family is a big flop without you. I miss you so much." I hug the image tightly.
I hang the image back up and take a few steps back. I smile slightly at the image as the memory come back to my head.
-flashback-
"Amy, take a picture with daddy." My mam smiles as she gets her camera out.
"I want to go in the pool mummy." I pout and point at the pool.
My dad crouches down by me and whispers in my ear. "If you take a picture with me now, I'll let you push daddy in the water." He pulls back and stands up. A grin appears on my face as I walk over to my dad.
"Come here beautiful." He puts his arm around my shoulder and smiles to the camera. I wrap my arms around his waist and show my teeth to the camera.
"Say cheese." My mam giggles as she takes the picture.
"Let's see." My dad walks over to her and kisses her cheek, viewing the camera.
"Ewwww, no kisses." I giggle and walk over to them. My dad picks me up, putting sloppy kisses all over my face.
"If I can't give them to mummy, I'll have to give them to you." He smiles as I squeal.
My mam smiles and kisses our head.
-end of flashback-
I bite my lip, remembering the good times with him.
I've never really told anyone about what happened. It doesn't really come up in a normal everyday talk. It just all comes down to trust. And everybody doesn't trust everyone. That's a known fact.

Adam POV:
After a quick nap, I walk downstairs to see my mum with her head hanging low and a bottle of half empty wine next to her. I narrow my eyebrows slightly and make my way towards her.
"Mum?" I ask, resting my hands on her shoulders. She jumps slightly and sniffs up, looking up at me.
"Yes darling?" She smiles and and drinks the rest of the remaining wine in her glass.
"What's the occasion?" I shake my head gently and point to the bottle.
"Your dad needs a little treatment. I just don't know where to get the money from..." she bites her lip, holding back the visible tears and holds my hand.
"I'll find some. I promise." I whisper and kiss her forehead. She sobs slightly and grabs my shirt, hugging me.
"He'll be fine. I swear." I reassure her and pull back, wiping her eyes.
"It's not that simple honey. Not everyone can go without treatment for a long period of time. I think he's one of them." She searches my face.
"It's fine." I kiss her head one more time and grab the wine bottle, placing it back in the fridge.
"Why don't you go and have a bath, try and relax." She nods slightly and gets up.
She walks out the kitchen and straight up stairs. I sigh heavily and rest myself against the kitchens counter.
Just as I grab my phone, Sawyer walks in the kitchen with black eye. I look confused and he speaks "Petty fight. Don't worry bro." I nod slightly as he walks out the kitchen, following my mums footsteps.
I unlock my phone and click Chloes dads phone number.
I type a quick message and hit the send button with no hesitation.
Sarah's dad
I have an interview tomorrow at around half two. Anytime before that is fine. Where should we meet?
Cheers,
